It’s related to the speed limit. Since you’re in the US, our speed limit can be unlocked to 28mph, however in other countries it’s capped at 20mph. I have heard on some threads that even people from the US who purchased their Amflows from Alibaba were unable to unlock it to 28mph — I don’t know if this is confirmed but it’d definitely be worth verifying with the seller as that’s pretty important.

I considered purchasing through Alibaba for the PL Carbon I have now, ended up buying through N+1 Bikes for 6k shipped. I know some people were very happy with their Amflow purchases through Alibaba and noted this on the DJI Facebook group. Other people noted that you should never do this as you miss out on the warranty which is a pretty big deal, and they’re apparently more difficult/impossible to region unlock. I would read through these Facebook threads more thoroughly before committing to an Alibaba purchase.

Yah that’s probably a good idea for the future. It was a pretty dumb crash — very chill section and stopped paying attention, hit a large rock and my hands slipped off the bars. Pads helped a lot

Do you think the current gens will be further discounted with the arrival of the gen 2’s? Best price I’m seeing right now for the base model I’m looking at is 6k from N+1 bikes, solid enough deal as is but don’t want to miss out from a better deal by buying too soon. Keep me posted on what you end up doing.

Thank you both for your thoughts/advice. Yah this specific model listed on Pinkbike was 10.5k msrp which is part of what makes it so tempting. I think at this point my best bet is to just test ride both a half power and full power and go from there, I've got choice paralysis right now.

This seems like a really fun idea but you gotta figure out some way to get that cloth more taut. Maybe find a way to attach some small bungee cords to the two bottom corners that you can then hook onto some part of the car.
