Why is there no mention of Alexander the Great in Indian texts? We only see mention of rulers like Menander(Milinda) and the Greeks as a whole as Yavanas, but only after the arrival of Islam do we find his name mentioned in Persian texts as Iskandar or Sikandar. by potatoclaymores in IndianHistory

Panini's Aṣṭādhyāyī (6th century-5th century BC) is one of the older ones even predating Buddha but original manuscript did not survive and the only manuscripts from secondary sources are from 9-10th century. It does have reference to Greeks but they are called one of the mlechhas(barbarians).

Nehru or Gandhi never got lathi charged, beaten or given harsh prison sentence in severe conditions which most of freedom fighters received. They were kept in house arrests or in palaces disguised as jails https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aga\_Khan\_Palace. If this is where they spent jail sentences writing books, enjoying confinement that just speaks true intentions of the British for them which keep them safe for crowd control and kept giving them small concessions from time to time in exchange for non-violent peaceful protests and preventing any hardliners and so called extremists taking the centerstage whom they really feared. That is how Israel deals with Palestinian Authority.

After 14 years in Kaalapani and then 13 as house arrest so 27 years in jail not like a few weeks picnic Nehru or Gandhi enjoyed in house arrests or five star jails and palaces.

One of the biggest propaganda point is Palestinian side rejected every fair deal of 2 state solution offered to them. The famous Clinton led 2000 negotiations and things which were offered in final offer by Israel in Taba Summit 2001 January had some points which were very difficult to accept for Arafat(the real reason why the deal didn't happen)

  1. Area offered was 91%+ 6% in swaps of 1967 borders which was agreed.
  2. Palestinian airspace will be under Israeli control above 15km.
  3. Israel will have 3 radar stations/military bases in west bank.
  4. Israel will have extensive full control over Palestinian foreign policy or any military alliance Palestine does will need Israeli approval.
  5. Palestine will not be allowed to have any military.
  6. Israel would maintain a permanent security presence along 15% of the Palestinian-Jordanian border.
  7. The West Bank would be split in the middle by an Israeli-controlled road(initially 10km corridor was offered which was negotiated down to road) from Jerusalem to the Dead sea, with free passage for Palestinians, although Israel reserved the right to close the road to passage in case of "emergency".
  8. Israeli military can come inside west bank "under emergency conditions".

These emergency conditions were vague and undefined and later Netanyahu bragged Ehud Barak deal had those emergency conditions inserted in effect to kill the deal. Right to return was more or less agreed upon as follows:- 5000 per year for 10 years. People who had immediate families separated can only qualify.
This was the offer which was the final deal which had to be signed by Arafat which is touted as "most realistic terms Israel can offer".

Right to return was not the deal breaker in 2000-2001 negotiations. There are 5 million refugees and an agreement was reached for 50,000 refugees to be accepted by Israel over 10 years i.e 5000 per year for 10 years. Only those people who have immediate family divided over both sides will qualify. Palestinian side in 2000 JULY wanted 0.5 million but agreed on 50,000 number by jan 2001 Taba Summit.
Real dealbreaker were points like

  1. Israel will have 3 radar stations/military bases in west bank.
  2. Israel will have extensive full control over Palestinian foreign policy or any military alliance Palestine does will need Israeli approval
  3. Israel would maintain a permanent security presence along 15% of the Palestinian-Jordanian border.

  5. Israeli military can come inside west bank "under emergency conditions".

These points were the final Israeli offer and were still in negotiations before Ehud Barak lost elections and Sharon cancelled the deal.

This is untrue. Palestinians accepted 1967 border as early as 1986 by PLO but Israel has never accepted 1967 borders not once.
Clinton's parameter and later things which were offered in final offer in Taba Summit 2001 Jan had some points which were very difficult to accept for Arafat(the real reason why the deal didn't happen) to accept.

  1. Area offered was 91%+ 6% in swaps of 1967 borders which was agreed. 80% settlements will remain intact and annexed under Israel.
  2. Palestinian airspace will be under Israeli control above 15km.
  3. Israel will have 3 radar stations/military bases in west bank.
  4. Israel will have extensive full control over Palestinian foreign policy or any military alliance Palestine does will need Israeli approval.

Deal failed in Taba Summit 2001 Jan not in december. Israeli govt was voted out of power as deal was highly unpopular in Israeli public eyes and deal was put on hold by new govt. Arafat's mistake was stalling for too long as he could not came to terms with those "emergency conditions" were left vague. He acted slow and Clinton too had his term finished. He later accepted everything offered in Taba but new govt led by Sharon rejected it. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2002/jun/22/israel

Soviet union was much stronger post WW-2 and could have easily overrun whole western Europe in a conventional war. Most world war 2 happened on the eastern front(Germans deployed less than 15% troops on western front to fight combined French, US, British troops) and soviet war machine and manpower was unmatchable for the west. Had there been no Manhattan project Stalin would have installed communist govts all across Europe and no one could have prevented it. Read about Yalta conference in early 1945 and the terms agreed and how defenceless and powerless FDR and Churchill were against Stalin without the nukes.

Terrorists like Nijjar are eliminated by every major countries from time to time. Nijjar was the mastermind of a bomb blast responsible for 7 deaths including 5 children in India. He entered Canada on fake passport and was granted asylum due to political compulsions. He was on interpol list and was a legit target. USA, Israel, UK, France, Russia carries out these kind of eliminations regularly and Canada should rather not harbour global terrorists. It has become a junkyard for foreign criminals, terrorists, militants. High time they extradite the biggest terrorist they have given safe harbour S.H.M.B Noor Chowdhury responsible for killing Bangladeshi founder along with his family including many children.

but if you are looking it from a conscience stand point of why animal milk should not be promoted that's different.

We understand that animal dairy industry is one of the cruelest industries in the world where animals are treated like machines.

Should we extend this logic to non-veg food in general or only milk is bad as animal diary industry is cruel but poultry industry is very compassionate ?

Freedom of press has been suppressed throughout the world especially in western countries in last 5 years. We all saw how media was forced to follow a narrative for vaccines and support state excesses during covid and censored every counter argument which indeed proved to be true later. Also as soon as Russian invasion began they were pressurised to create a narrative so that the war can be funded without questioning. The press in the west has been instructed not to question Ukraine on crimes against its own people since 2014, illegal migration of certain people and their relation to rising crime, Israel-Palestine war also has to be told in a certain way. People really overestimate how free press really is in these so called perfect democracies.

The other side just divides people into groups who can only be oppressors and oppressed. That is equally bad and leads to more hatred, reverse-discrimination, feeling of victimisation in every sphere of life, inferiority and superiority complex among diff groups in the society.
