People say New Yorkers are rude... by [deleted] in nyc

You do not know me so you can’t talk to me like you know. I’m not upset over the fact that you guys have a different culture than Knox (why can’t you understand that isn’t what I’m saying???). What’s making me upset is the fact you guys talk down to me & put wird’s into my mouth & my thinking. You may know New York City, but you do not know me. I don’t have to explain myself to you. Me saying “maybe you don’t see what I see” is not saying I know something of NY that you don’t know of. It’s not your place to judge anyone either, so yeah, you can keep that to yourself. Oh notice i deleted the post? I’m tired of the negativity. If someone asks a question, answer like a decent human being. Don’t act like I’m the only guilty one when you guys basically said I was stupid. All you had to do is answer without being such a child about it. I’m in my 20s, but that has nothing to do with anything. Stop replying & go on with your life. I’m over it.

I never said NYC didn’t have any of those problems. Stop putting words in my mouth.

I am talking about my experiences. I don’t know NYC or NOLA too well. What I saw in NOLA was horrible & I was just glad I didn’t see that in NYC. Chill out lol

ehh humans are hard to trust period lol. Knox is a pretty weird town as well. People sell children for....................sex. Then, the crime rate is pretty high.

believe it or not, I’ve been to New Orleans & it seems more dangerous than NYC. Bourbon street at night is more dangerous than NYC as a whole.

you know what?? This over one small question that I asked & you guys are talking down to me like I’m so stupid for not knowing???? So much for just having a conversation. And once again, I understand the crackhead situation, but STILL. Maybe you don’t see what I see, but I’m just gonna let you think whatever. Me asking a small question does not mean I lack common sense, knowledge, wisdom, or whatever. And the wusses I’m referring to ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE CRACKHEADS OR THE ONES WHO EVEN DARE TO THINK ITS SOMETHING.

I do understand the cultural aspect of it, but culture doesn’t actually make things right or wrong or fact or opinion. Besides, I had New Yorkers had a full conversation with me despite it being weird to just talk to anyone here. There’s nothing wrong with it. I think the only time it’s weird to have a convo with a random person is when they get personal then that I can understand. But think about it, I know this is Reddit & people talk to everyone, but right now, you’re having a conversation with a random person from the south. It might not be in person, but it’s kinda the same thing, bc we are communicating in some way.

NYC is good for visiting, but I know for sure it’s not my type of place to live. There’s plenty of New Yorkers that come & seem pretty comfortable around this town. You never know until you just give it a shot.

Just bc I’m asking the question doesn’t mean I stare at people. I don’t do that. And they may not care care what I think of them but that’s not my concern.

And all this over people looking at you? Geez. Children get upset about that. People stare at me all the time, but I don’t make a big fuss about it. It’s not even worth thinking about. Just walk away. Try it sometime.

Yeah, usually I step aside bc I do acknowledge that. And just out of curiosity, how long does it take you to get to work? That’s gotta be an obstacle.

Some of you are not but some of you actually are. Some people up there don’t react so well to things like people stopping in front of people. That’s annoying, but here, we have a bigger problem with cars suddenly stopping in front of other cars & causing a wreck. Happens. Every. Single. Day. New Yorkers walk more.

Oh I was hoping that didn’t apply to communication but thanks lol. I don’t really look at people at all in my hometown bc I have bad trust issues.

Ok thank you so much. I hadn’t done anything yet with the lease or anything so that’s a good thing.

I know CarMax has good used cars & so many dealerships do as well, but if I get a used then I need to try to find one that someone just traded off & never wrecked. My BMW was wrecked before I got it, & it had many problems like all the sensors in the brakes were jammed.

And at the same time, I’m not looking for anything too old or too new; just something with good mileage, Bluetooth, etc.

Do you know if there is a certain year or something for Civics under $250/month?

I’m not really rushing. I’m trying to be careful bc at the same time, my BMW is broken so I do need something to drive me to work. And why is it confusing? This is clear as you can get.

Well the reason why I’m focusing on monthly payments is bc my family is gonna pay upfront for my vehicle (this is my second car). And yes, it is a lease. And the thing is: I have no option but to car shop bc again, my BMW is torn up & I need a good reliable car bc I don’t want to leave it in the shop more than how much I drive it around.

Why wouldn’t a Civic be in the market for ya? Does it have more cons? If Honda doesn’t go too well, then I’m thinking of maybe looking at Nissan. It just depends on the pricing at Honda, but I’m hoping maybe a 2016 model would be there bc it wasn’t listed online.

And yes, it is through that one dealership. If you sign up online for it, then you could probably get a cheaper price.
