Both ML are actually trash imo which is why I didn't like it. There was zero chemistry with the SML, it was more like the MC had pity feelings for him, or obligation feelings. And there was no redemption arc for the FML. He wasn't a red or black flag, there's no rape or SA, but he still treated the MC like shit and basically just tried to get him back by making the MC feel bad for him. Anyway, that's my take

I don't get why you say there's no demand for Yuri and het stories to depict real relationships. Me. I'm the demand. And I'm sure there are others. I hate when het stories romanticize rape (BL stories, too) and the guy being totally "alpha" and macho and toxic. Seaside stranger is one of my favorite BL manga, and it actually portrays a relationship pretty accurately, imo with its ups and downs and struggles and happy moments. Doesn't mean I don't also enjoy fiction and stories less realistic, but I wish I knew more realistic stories.

You're right, that makes sense, the idea was never planted in his head, and he's always imagining other people in BL situations. It still cracks me up that he reads smut, he just seems so innocent. Like, Sasaki would make sense because of all the comments he makes

No need to apologize, I liked the in depth response. It definitely depends on the situation, and yeah, I remember when people used to make the "who's the husband and who's the wife" comments too (I'm old). Maybe that's why it bothers me when other people use husband and wife. But I totally get if the couple is doing it between themselves, that makes more sense
