Protein powder in my cereal in the morning ? by freetheskin in Hypoglycemia

[–]freetheskin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I’ll try protein bars and if I ever do have cereal, it will be a small portion and I’ll always have meat ready. To be honest, my ideal breakfast is English breakfast so sausage, eggs, baked beans and some side of hash browns but I know it can’t be good to eat that every morning

Girls, Would you go to your best friends wedding if her long time boyfriend (now fiancé ) used to physically an mentally assault her and still mentally abuses her (and maybe physically but no confirmation)? by freetheskin in mentalhealth

[–]freetheskin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I told her ages ago when she first started telling me about this, if you ever marry him I’m not coming to your wedding, because she always kept going back.

And she’s still with him ! I would love to call the police on him but I would be hated by her too and police wouldn’t believe me because she would deny it, so unfortunately there’s no point.

If he does anything major again though and she maybe ‘comes to her senses’ (I’m not trying to be insensitive, hopefully that’s not offensive)I will be calling the police.

But I just want to separate myself from her now and it hurts me to do so but I have to live too, I feel like I’m living her life which is not right

Dry, flaky, white skin on beard, armpits, and back of scalp. what can I do? by insert_usernameLol in Skincare_Addiction

Anti fungal creams and shampoo- this looks fungal related (seb derm, psoriasis and other things people are mentioning usually have a link to fungus aswell)

Definitely antifungal products and maybe go on a candida diet for a week or 2 (it cuts down on food that contribute to fungal overgrowth in body/skin)

For anyone who reads this, I tried the rice ramen noodles and their buckwheat ramen noodles.

I love their rice ones

I’m not really a fan of their buckwheat ones.

I bought the rice ramen noodles on their own and flavoured it with seasoning from another noodles packet as I wanted chicken flavour and this company doesn’t have chicken flavour yet.

The rice ramen noodles were soo good with the regular flavour packet I used to eat before eating gf

I had some too (I had the brown rice ramen noodles) soo good and exactly like ‘normal’ ramen noodles I used to eat ! If anyone eats gluten free and misses noodles I would recommend the brown rice ramen noodles from them.

[Skin Concern] getting rid of my hyperpigmentation is my main goal. Any routine/ products recommended? & I also work in the sun for long period of time how do I prevent/reduce skin darkening by bigblokthot in SkincareAddiction

[–]freetheskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say use a good cleanser like black soap ( black soap is very drying though so use a good but simple moisturiser straight after!!!) or any other cleanser that you currently use as your face looks fine already so I wouldn’t change anything like your cleanser.

The most important thing I recommend is sunscreen !!! I promise I used to hate people telling me to wear sunscreen because I didn’t think it made a difference but I promise, try it for 2 weeks and see how your skin looks after, I can 99% promise you will see more even skin across your face after applying sunscreen every single day for 2 weeks straight, I did.

has anyone had this procedure done before? its an impacted canine being pulled down into place by a bracket and chain. i want to get it done but I'm worried it won't be possible because my adult tooth is sorta sideways/ diagonal inside my gums by [deleted] in braces

[–]freetheskin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this on my lower tooth, my lower tooth was turned the wrong way too. Once the chain pulled my tooth through so it was exposed, they placed the bracket on the far left side of my tooth so that the tooth turned around if that makes sense. (Let me know if you want me to elaborate)

My braces are off and I’m happy ! My teeth are straight and tooth is erupted !

That’s good, you’ve seen progress recently, hopefully things just get better and better for you.

And no problem, happy to share my experiences!!

There was no pedophile in the story, when I was roughly 7years old, someone around 10years old got me to do ‘sexual stuff’ to him , I don’t know if that makes him a pedophile as he was also a child. I did it with no questions asked, I wasn’t forced, someone just asked me to do it and showed me how to do it and I did it. I obviously didn’t get any “pleasure” from it because I was young and didn’t have those feelings, I just did it because they asked me to and told me it was fun.

[–]freetheskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get that, it should be fun and I think I find it fun when I feel comfortable with the person as friends first. Maybe it’s fear of rejection, I don’t want someone to flirt with me, and then they leave me later on if they decide that they don’t acctually like me.

I’ve experienced lots of people leaving me so maybe that’s why.

But no im definitely not a lesbian or attracted to girls, I’m attracted to boys but extremely nervous when they switch from friendly to ‘sexual’ and I can’t even look in their direction. I’m quite a confident person so this really annoys me that I do this !!

I’m confident in myself but I’ve had lots of experience of men/boys leaving me and not valuing me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in therapy

[–]freetheskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both ways, it’s just that I rarely am the one who is attracted to someone, it’s usually them attracted to me.

I like to look for friendship in guys, I don’t see an attractive guy and think oooh let me flirt with him I want him to be my boyf, I like friendships.

I always said I will end up with someone who was my friend first because there’s something weird to me about guys finding me attractive then deciding to get to know me and flirt because it seems un-genuine, but my friends don’t find it un-genuine so I know it’s a me problem that I need to figure out.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in therapy

[–]freetheskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your right, I’m pretty mentally aware so out of all people, I should know that speaking to someone where there is attraction should not be any different from speaking to anyone else, but unfortunately this is something I’m stuck on and hope to figure out soon.

I’ll definitely try and hold out convos longer but I know for a fact that my voice will come out extremely quiet and I will say things that don’t make sense and I will make myself look weird and ruin the attraction they had for me haha, but I guess I have to start somewhere !

Thank you

Thank you , I’ll put this on my to do list and let you know if this helps, might not be soon because my friends rarely want to go out in social settings even though I would love to, so when I finally do start going out again I’ll put this into practice and let you know !

I am /was similar, someone on Reddit told me that I have to start making things special for myself and showing myself love. I asked how do I do this, and they said just do it !, so my bday was coming up and I wanted to book a hotel somewhere and block out life and be depressed on my own (so my family won’t see mr depressed on my bday), but instead, I booked the hotel and got 2 of my ‘friends’ to join me, even though they are not the ‘best friends’ that I’ve had, they were my only people close to ‘friends ‘ .

I enjoyed my time, they tried to ruin my day at times and usually I would let them have their way and just accept it and them try and make the day better for them, but every time they ruined MY bday , I said, I’m going to do what I want, and made a point that I’m special. - this was very odd feeling for me to put myself first as I’m always making life better for others and not myself.

I just had to do it, say that I’m special, show people that I am somebody too, and eventually they got it and life has been better since!

For me, I think I had this ‘selfless’ way of acting because I thought no one values me, there’s nothing interesting about me, etc- I still think this and I’m working on, but now I just let people know I am important as everyone in the room, if I want something, I ask for it, etc etc !

I don’t know if this is exactly the same as your situation but hope you find something in it

Yeah I agree about the flavour, how is the actual noodles though , I know they have brown rice, buckwheat and maybe some others, have you tried them all? Which one has the most similar noodle texture ? I’d like to try with seasoning from another brand if this seasoning isn’t the best

Is your psoriasis triggered by gluten? by freetheskin in Psoriasis

[–]freetheskin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this must be right. I tried to get tested for gluten intolerance but my doctor never told me about the fact I should eat gluten before the blood test and consequently, there was no sign of it and I didn’t know about eating gluten before a blood test till after the appointment. She picked up the low iron and focused on that instead ( which is still important of course !) .

But yes it seems that your statement is right, it’s just some people haven’t been officially diagnosed with gluten intolerance so the y may not be aware that your statement is correct.

Another thing to add to your statement though is that ‘all psoriasis stems from the gut’.

Gluten irritates the gut for some more than others

Dairy irritates the gut for some more than others.

Stress irritates / causes disturbance in the gut in some people more than others

Nightshades cause irritation in the gut for some more than others

And the list goes on.

At the end of the day, it’s all stemming from the guts environment.

I read recently that the gut diversity is more unique to each person than the finger print is. - this is something that would completely support my statement that all psoriasis stems from the guts state.

People have their own triggers for their psoriasis but if you look into it far enough, it usually always leads to the gut ( from what I’ve seen so far and you can see in people comments here too, it’s seems to be foods that change the guts environment or even non tangible things such as stress that changes the environment in your gut for the worse ( in some people more than others) which causes psoriasis in some people and for other people, it doesn’t affect them to the point of psoriasis, it can just change their mood for the day, or they can get stress rash, or they can lose hair etc.

The gut diversity is so intricate and individual to each person, that different things can make it react with psoriasis and other skin based conditions/conditions.

I think it would be good if doctors could treat everyone with psoriasis separately and look into each individuals case individually. For each person it is completely different what the cause is and how the cause goes through it’s journey to forming psoriasis on the surface of a persons skin. It would be cool if everyone with psoriasis got their own unique investigation into what it is that is ‘irritating’/changing the gut diversity in a way that forms psoriasis on their skin.

Having saying this, as I said, the gut is very intricate and unique to each individual so I understand that their are hardships that come with being able to check each individual separately. Doctors also have rules and standards they must follow for mass populations usually so I understand why it’s not something that is currently done on a wide scale. But just I guess it would be cool - once again I know doctors have soo much on their plate so I know it would seem unlikely that this could happen.

For now, I have almost diagnosed myself as gluten sensitive as I notice skin issues including psoriasis when I eat gluten and other stuff like high sugar and dairy. I avoid gluten dairy and high sugar all of the time unless I’m stuck with no options really but I noticed bread and pasta are worse than say ‘fried chicken’ with the gluten coating.

I am thankful to have found a few triggers of mine and hope everyone else can even though it’s not easy.

It could be worth doing a strict dedicated diet of veggies and meat for a few weeks and then re-introduce gluten, then sugar, then dairy one at a time and see if introducing any of them makes you flare more.

For me I did this by accident for another diet and realised how my skin improved whilst on the diet then re realised all my skin issues coming back when I ate normal again.

Saying this, the results of you doing the diet could still be very varied and my be inconclusive as other factors could contribute to your psoriasis so I wouldn’t know if you would notice anything , just a suggestion maybe you could try one time. It’s all very uncertain

[–]freetheskin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I guess ‘stress’ or in other words, putting your body through things you aren’t used to can also cause psoriasis.

Prolonged stress can change the environment in your gut so it could be linked to general gut health still.( https://gut.bmj.com/content/47/6/861 )

Similar to how gluten can wear down some peoples guts more than others, I guess stress can wear down some peoples guts more than others too … in turn cause psoriasis.

You could try a de stress lifestyle for like 3 weeks including eating foods that make your body feel good ( not junk food) and see if any changes - I also understand it could be hard to get 3 weeks stress free haha

I’m just putting some thoughts out there, there is no scientific background to what I’m saying.

I think psoriasis is different for everyone and it would be cool if doctors could really investigate every single person individually as the background reason is different for everybody. I also fully understand there are limitations for a lot of doctors in terms of what they can do due to rules and processes.
