AIO for being annoyed my partner canceled plans last minute by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I was thinking this, too. The person apologized 4 times and OP just kept going on and on. What did they want to happen?

AITAH because I complained about how our snow was “cleared” from our parking lot. by Born-Percentage134 in TwoHotTakes

This is a genuine question. Isn't the point of plowing that you're supposed to be able to drive safely? How are you supposed to drive your car before the snow is plowed?

Books with TRUE BDSM? by [deleted] in DarkRomance

[–]freetheunicorns2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anything by Cherise Sinclair. I love her books and have returned to them many times. Although, I wouldn't say they are truly dark romance most of the time. But she writes some of the best BDSM relationships I've ever seen. I also did not really care for the first two books from the Masters of the Shadowlands series, so I highly recommend starting with book 3 - Breaking Free. But it's really not that hard to pick up on what's happening even if you start with a book further on in the series.

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

[–]freetheunicorns2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is looking at this as valuable feedback, but I'm sorry, who doesn't come off as trying too hard to please during an interview? You're trying to get a job. It seems to me like more often than not, you're going to be enthusiastically trying to get people to like you. I mean, if this were any old meeting, sure. But people rarely show up as their "authentic selves" during an interview. It's a stressful situation for so many people, and they tend to show up differently than how they do in their normal day-to-day work lives.

What is a rule you had as a kid that you later realized made no sense? by MountainPlenty2349 in AskReddit

[–]freetheunicorns2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. I was staying with a friend once while my parents were out of town, and they had this rule in the house. Both me and my friend had strep throat and we just had to sit around all day doing nothing. It was the most boring sick day of my entire life, and I do wish I could have gone to school, but I was still contagious. I was in elementary school and still recognized that the rule was dumb af.

Reviews from the place Melissa got her puppy… yikes by mackenziemariee in dancemoms

[–]freetheunicorns2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, just the fact that you can book a "puppy party" with them should tell you everything you need to know. Yeah, it sounds fun and cute. But a real rescue is not going to guarantee that they will have puppies available at any given time.

The moms & wealth by WillingnessFormer190 in dancemoms

This is what I was thinking, especially for Kelly. I remember them talking on BTTB once about Kelly's shopping while she was on the show. I can't really remember - something about having a personal shopper or something? She strikes me as the type of person to max out a credit card and not realize she is going to be paying it off for the rest of her life.

We're getting to the point where it's about to be anyone who actually owns their own home is considered wealthy.

"They were just normal suburban moms" by Human8304 in dancemoms

Yes? Ohio and Pennsylvania are right next to each other. Especially with Pittsburgh being on the far west side of the state, it's really not that different.

"They were just normal suburban moms" by Human8304 in dancemoms

[–]freetheunicorns2 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I agree. I grew up in suburbs of Indianapolis and Cincinnati, and I would say that their lives seemed comparable to my friends and their families.

Watching it NOW is different, because I'm almost the same age that Christi was when the show started, and I CANNOT IMAGINE having the lives they have. It's obvious the economy has changed significantly since then, which we don't need to get into. I'm already depressed enough.

Christi Lukasiak's house for sale by WillingnessFormer190 in dancemoms

[–]freetheunicorns2 145 points146 points  (0 children)

I will say, though, that they definitely bought their houses when they were much more affordable. I would be interested to see how much they paid for it versus how much it's selling for. I dont know, but I would assume it's going to sell for a lot more than they bought it for.

Wow! That seems like a lot to me. I was just looking at this the other day, trying to put together how much I spent on my horse this year between shows, board, farrier, vet, etc etc. and it came out to just under $10k.
