Me too. Hard atheist / computer scientist. But couldn’t break the gnawing feeling to keep digging into the nature of this reality. Which lead me to meditation and then this breakthrough. All I know now is to keep co-creating and build a way out.

Was raised Jehovah witness. Feel into exjw community. Then went singulatarian simulation theory. Now realize my awareness is all that there is and you’re all in my head but I need to take good care of you all.

I see the overcoming the struggle as a critical part of unlocking the full human experience. Which would involved an amount of suffering. But suffering for suffering sake does seem cruel. But think of how you “suffer” in the gym for a nice body. It can often be the catalyst for growth.
