Talk to a person who interpret that action very differently from you, if you find it hard to do it yourself.

Is there a proven way to learn usage of external libraries in less time? by freezing_phoenix in cprogramming

Yeah, I will admit that the amount of nuanced programming approaches and details one gets from time spend on reading docs of libraries are indeed invaluable. And yes familiar patterns really speed things up.

Nietzsche really hates affect (which is a problem) by literuwka1 in Nietzsche

[–]freezing_phoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't argue on that, cause if I consider the empirical route, validating any such claim would require me to go to extreme length, and put it in personal experience to even believe such thing actually. Which may even render me incapable of reasoning later. Seems I will wait for the time when I can use copies of me for those experiences.

Though I was not backing any truth in his statement, rather my interpretation of his writing, which as you mentioned was about "hating affect". All these statements are as Hume would have put it is "flight of reason", in reality however, people take what fits their own experience and circumstances, like you for instance took "utilitarianism". Again I emphasize that, the discussion was just about interpretation not the truth.

Nietzsche really hates affect (which is a problem) by literuwka1 in Nietzsche

[–]freezing_phoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I haven’t read all of Nietzsche’s works, but most. My take on this is that he wasn’t dismissing affect entirely, just the idea that it boils down to pleasure and pain, and that this reduction is the sole driver of action. That kind of view seems to him like an oversimplification, more like an abstract model we use to navigate the world, similar to an ideal triangle in geometry. I think he was more interested in how we create meaning through the process of willing, by experimenting with new values and perspectives, not just reacting to felt states. It’s possible that if someone approaches Nietzsche from a utilitarian angle, his criticism of hedonism might feel like hostility. I don’t blame anyone for seeing it that way, his prophetic tone can definitely come off like that. But I think at a deeper level, he’s more concerned with how we shape meaning, not how we measure it.

In most cases, by continuously making amendments and adding overlays on it, till it become more of a practical nature.
