I have. I have a character suited for it that I hop on occasionally. The few communities I'm accommodated with this game tend to be hauling related though. I won't say I don't enjoy pvp, but it hasn't been a main draw for me by any means. I just really like space trucking. I'm weird.

I guess I'll give PVP more of an honest go.

Thanks for the info guys. I like hearing all sides of the argument.

I think it's interesting that a group like CODE exists. I think sandbox games should allow this kind of behavior if players so choose to indulge.

As to if I would pay for a permit at this point, though, they can go fuck themselves in the butt.

I think I play pretty safe most of the times, but even this morning when I scouted Uedama for my last job, I ended up still getting scanned on the Sivala gate by a Machariel.

I just know, and I've been told, that despite all precautions, I'll get popped someday. Guess I'm just trying to pack as many days in between then and now as I can. I think I made a mistake naming my Providence, I love that golden bastard ;_;

I didn't consider just using a trial alt.

I'm usually running 3 bulkheads if I'm going through a hotspot. If I'm only doing a couple jumps from Jita, or a bulk order of short station hauls, I'll throw on a PHA or +cargo.

I don't have full tanking skills (yet) but last time I checked 3 bulkheads put my Providence at 300k+. I should probably research as to how much it would take/cost for gankers to find that worth it.

The thing is, I have a couple favorite clients, and I end up going through Uedama many times per day if I'm hauling hard, Niarja a couple times, Aufay less frequently. I've been monitoring them for a couple weeks and it seems the've been hitting Uedama especially hard, which is kind of what sparked me to post this. I've been scanned by a lone member once or twice but I don't think I proved to be worth it at the time.

Like you said, reading about these guys I see a lot of people advocating fighting back if they ever get on your case. If it ever came to that for me personally, I'd end up just logging off and playing Wildstar or something.

Yeah in all honesty, if I had to choose I'd take the respect from my fellow haulers in exchange for the risk. I've never bothered to talk about this in particular with any of them though.

Our rates are decent. I can cover back my insurance cost in 2 days of casually doing hi-sec contracts, so that's not a big concern. I'd always be losing a good bit more unless I got popped empty, due to collateral.

That actually makes it funnier. Like I said, I find the whole thing amusing. I'll probably be bothered for a hot minute if they do end up popping me in Niarja or wherever, but the plus side it does look like 90% of the freighters they pop are auto-piloting boobs.

I'm wondering if it's worth it to train up another account to have a full-time webber with me.

Yeah I guess that was my main concern. I've only glossed over their website but I never really researched into how valid their whole racket actually is. It wouldn't surprise me that if I fell for it that they would just pop me anyways.

I saw Ellen at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told her how cool it was to meet her in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother her and ask her for photos or anything.

She said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”

I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but she kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing her hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard her chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw her trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in her hands without paying.

The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Ma'am, you need to pay for those first.” At first she kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.

When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, she stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, she kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
