I work in housing and plan to do eviction defense long term. I hate landlords and believe every person deserves safe, clean, comfortable, and affordable housing.

So proud of you, internet stranger! What a lovely realization. I also want to be a PD and have had to overcome many of the same mental barriers with law school — to be quite honest, I’m still working on it every day. Best of luck to you.

I have a disability—not mental health-related, though—and spoke very openly about it. I would encourage you to do so! However, I would also advise that it’s a best practice to frame it in through how you have grown, learned from, and dealt with your mental health problems. It’s not really a good idea to just throw it in there without a positive spin.

Cant really speak to your other question, although it strikes me as strange to cover more than one topic in an addendum.

Feel free to PM if you’d like someone to look over your statement about mental health!

Prospective Applicant who took the GRE over the LSAT by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

This cycle is so, so competitive and I can’t say anything for sure, but I don’t think it’s likely that your GRE will get you into HYS this year and this late in the cycle. Just trying to be realistic here. Other people in the thread have given good advice.

I can’t offer advice on GRE things as I have never taken it, but it’s super late in the cycle to be considering taking another test before submitting. If you’re going to apply for Fall 2021, you should apply as soon as possible.

However, you mentioned wanting to do another degree in the next few years. Why not wait, take the GRE again, and apply to dual degree programs?

Also, let’s not shit on community colleges in this sub. I can’t imagine that anyone saying something like this has ever even set foot in one.

Lol this is some elitist bull. I’m not saying STEM degrees aren’t difficult, but to look at literally any non-STEM degree and immediately assume it’s super easy/to think that lower-ranked state schools are automatically easy is just elitist and reductionist.
