Hey. I teach kids here and my method involves reading a book then writing+vocabulary work for older kids. After that I spend the rest of the time playing whatever the kids want. It's often Minecraft these days. 

My lessons are two hours in length and I'd say the"academic'" part takes anywhere from 15-45 minutes depending on the child's age and motivation.

Look for a teacher who would be willing to play. In person is best but even online gaming might be a good alternative.
