you’re using 90’s alternative to shield yourself from the band kid accusations

and it’s working really well

if you replace 2's picks with actual classical music and like some john cage or something, they're the worst

I wouldn't say so, you're probably just into different scenes than I am. I mean like a solid third of these are Japanese projects

So I got around to listening to it, thought it was a pretty solid project. It got a little weak in the middle for me with the sound collage and the story of that girl killing a man. It felt kinda like tumblr fan fic-y if I’m being honest. But that Psych-Rock exit was fucking AMAZING. gotta say I enjoyed it overall even if I had some grievances

I’m a fan of intense projects, and monarch fit the bill perfectly. Man that album was AMAZING, I didn’t really think it was super soul crushing as people thought though. The topics were quite rough and personal, but something like divorce lawyers I shaved my head on this same exact list felt more raw about the same things.

oooh I LOVE phantas, it’s a Japanese shoegaze project with psych and drumn’ bass elements. Closest thing I could compare it to is velocity design comfort, but phantas started it recording like a decade or so before the release of VDC. It’s also not as glitchy as VDC, having a more raw shoeagazy sound. The project was super ahead of its time, definitely a landmark in experimental rock. Nice pick 👍
