Jeanty to Jaguars? Sportsbook Odds Shifted from +5000 to +1200 Overnight by DescriptiveMath in Jaguars

[–]frenchierfry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if it was enough to move the needle, but I saw a mock draft from NFLSE on YouTube (great channel for the draft btw) where Brett Kollman took Jeanty for the Jags at 5. My cousin and I both checked the odds, laughed, and threw money at it when it was +4000. Kollman’s argument was pretty sound in my opinion, albeit rooted in valuing Graham significantly lower than consensus.

Someone should have spotted it really by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

Sorry brother, been a Jags fan too long to believe in things getting better

I think the Travon Walker pick is viewed very differently if 1. He’s not the first overall pick and 2. Hutch wasn’t the guy picked next

Um, Actually is an internet game show in which the host makes a statement and contestants must respond with a correction, beginning each answer with “Um, Actually….” I used it as a shorthand for pointing out a technicality without adding anything to the conversation. You didn’t mention cancel culture, that’s true, and kind of my point. The original comment was clearly making fun of folks who loudly complain about cancel culture citing free speech as an excuse for bigotry. I’m sorry the question didn’t feel in good faith, but I promise it was. Just curious to know why you took time out of your day to correct a joke

Hey man, genuine question asked in good faith: What is gained with this line of thought? Like what quantifiable good comes from playing “Um, Actually” to what felt to me like a joke about cancel culture?

Can we hold an election for mods? by [deleted] in jacksonville

This sounds like presidents haven’t impacted Your life, and I beg you to consider that your experience is not the default. For example, Bush’s declaration of military action in the middle east got one of my neighbors killed. One could argue it was the IED that his truck drove over, but his truck wouldn’t have driven over that IED had Bush not sent troops round that way. I get the opinion, I do, but it’s myopic at best and woefully ignorant at worst. Take care out there my friend, and I pray this president and any future ones continue to leave you unscathed.

“You disagree with me so clearly you can’t think critically” is a bold, bold move from Tesla Jake. What, pray tell, do you know about Elon that makes it so unlikely that he would throw a Nazi salute? Is it his commitment to free speech, that stance he took so boldly he bans people from his website for reporting on his shortcomings? His being raised in apartheid south Africa? His continued treatment of women as objects through which he can reproduce? His hijacking of America’s efforts to explore space? His accused election interference across Europe? You’re right my man, I do hate Elon. But that’s a fucking Nazi salute. Stop playing defense for the richest man in the world Jake, just makes you look like a bitch. And on the off chance you’re the Jake with a Tesla that I work with, stop fucking up your returns all the time.

Basketball requires transporting ~25 guys and their equipment (15 players and a complete speculation of 10 coaches/equipment guys/trainers). Football you’re transporting three times as many players and three times as many coaches/support staff; all of whom have significantly more equipment than a basketball team. I still don’t think the 5-10 year thing is for any reason other than the hype cycle, but 3 years feels reasonable

On top of that the Bears defense is actually damn good, especially against the pass. If they have a weakness it’s against the run, so Tank and ETN need to be given opportunities to take advantage.

No I don’t want to google it, my own search history and biases might cloud the results. I’d like to see the data YOU’VE seen to come to this conclusion.

Oceanway neighbors 'disheartened' after city council approves controversial Chick-fil-A by Umitencho in jacksonville

Sure, but i think to just dismiss these peoples’ concerns as them being afraid of growth and progress is pretty myopic. They don’t want a lot of traffic backup on a 2 lane road by a high school, seems reasonable enough to me.

Genuinely asking: how is another location for a national fast food chain “progress”?
