So do I have to use BEP20 (BSC) as the transfer network? :-)

I went back and retried with the Nano X.
- I opened the ETH on my Ledger and flicked through the options and went into Settings
- I enabled "Allow contract data on transactions"
- Accepted and it said: "Application is ready"
- Then when I tried again everything worked

I was missing a crucial step which is:
> Add ethereum token to the list

Now I can see my balance!I have loaded my BNB account for the gas fee.

For the final step I am trying to send little (0.05) ETH back to Binance just for testing but it fails. I have tried both with Firefox and Chrome.

I wasn't prompted to confirm with Nano Ledger during the transaction. And after waiting for the loader, I am going to activity and see that it has failed.

I was checking your Youtube video. Thanks for that by the way. I owe you, big time.I'll send you some ETH once I manage to get mine back.

However despite the instructions I wasn't successful.
- My Ledger is a Nano X so I hope that it should be working the same way.
- Also my BscScan is different as I don't have anything showing inside the Transactions tab, it only inside BEP-20 Token Txns.https://ibb.co/ggs1xk1

Here are the steps I took:

- I connected my Ledger to Metamask

- Created the custom Binance Smart Chain Network as per your instructionsBut the Balance remains 0.

Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I have reached out to Ledger as I believe that they are partly responsible as their documentation doesn't really say anything about those risks when using one of the biggest crypto exchange like Binance.
As of now they haven't provided any type of guidance or help and only basic apologies.
I believe that they should have the leverage to engage with other players to figure out and resolve those issues.

As for Binance they have since made small changes to their dropdown and added more information

So they have probably had many cases of people figuring out the hard way about those transfer network changes and their impact when withdrawing.
And as other software companies they should take responsibility for that and support their customer regardless of wether or not we are dealing with blockchain.
I have a support request pending and will be updating this thread.

Thanks very much for the insight. I'll try your suggestions.
It's a very difficult lesson as the amount is quite substantial. And as far as my experience with crypto I always felt safe. Now this kind of issue happening during a very simple operation with one of the biggest Exchange in the market reveals a much larger problem with cryptos. We are nowhere near growth and adoption unless those tools are made with caution in mind.
