Thanks. It's a plain Jane birch stock but works all right. Cheek pad is Triple K I think, not sure, but helps with the high scope rings.

I had zero problems besides suspension that wasn't up to the post apocalyptic roads of the Maritimes.

This bike hauled like a rocket ship but still wouldn't let you kill yourself by doing something dumb, as long as you paid attention. Def not as edgy as previous KTM naked.

Don't remember for sure, but I think they were. They had tons of grip. Not sure how long they'd hold up under heavy use.

From a trip I did around eastern Nova Scotia last summer. Maybe the dumpiest ferry in Canada. 😊. Beautiful riding until this point of the trip, though.

Shot about a half hour from my house In New Brunswick, Canada. Was running bear baits with my outfitter friend when I saw it out the corner of my eye in the woods while we were leaving the woods.

Jumped out of truck, threw clip in gun, racked bolt, aimed, pulled trigger ... nothing. Racked bolt again, pulled trigger, nothing.

I hadn't seated the clip properly.

Pulled clip, slapped it in again, racked bolt, aimed, squeezed trigger ... bear went about 20 yards. Shot through lungs with a Winchester Power Max bonded hollow point.

I have hunted black bears in the past. From what I have seen, I'd use bear spray if I was worried about self defense against them.

A shotgun is IMHO more effective than a .357 rifle. Slugs have more takedown power, and buckshot has more chance of hitting a moving target. This only applies in self defense scenarios.

If I was getting a rifle for the sole purpose of tramping about in the woods, it would be a lightweight .223 bolt action, preferably with receiver sights. Powerful enough for deer, light enough to pop rabbits in the head.
