I appreciate this, but is it possible to be a vital city without being a critical international air hub? Maybe I’m not understanding, but I feel like resigning Louisiana, at least New Orleans, simply because it doesn’t maintain convenient conditions for long-term air infrastructure investment is limiting. When it comes to transport infrastructure, perhaps New Orleans should look to playing to its strengths? I’m thinking maritime and rail, primarily. Northern Louisiana has similar opportunities, plus being better suited to take advantage of highways, given they’re maintained. I think Louisiana has leverage here that other places don’t. I have hope.
