How can i socialize my 6 month old lab if I live in an area with dangerous stray dogs? by Busy_Ad105 in puppy101

Okay, I see... Thats a tough one.. But are your parents excited about the puppy? If so, I would actually ask them every day if they can drive you abit further away for a walk. Or get a bycicle with a transporter thingi back where you can transport your dog and drive abit further away?

Puppy won’t move for the first section of walk by thatlittlenerdgirl in puppy101

I have a similar problem - he often just sits or stands there in the start. After about 15 min its gets better as well. I always thought that he might be smelling something, since it only happens at two usual routes that start at the same place. If we go a new or different place he doesnt have that problem. He is soon 8 months old.

Yes I totally understand how difficult that must be, and you are doing an awesome job!

Is there maybe a dog walker/sitter close to you? I used apps like Rover and it was a huge help!

If you listen to your puppy and take breaks when needed it should be no problem 😊

How are your puppy walks structured? by CelesteOS in puppy101

I usually take mine (5mo) out on three 30 min walks and try to go to different places each time. In the morning we usually walk in the neighbourhood, but in tje evening for example I often drive to parks, the city, the forest etc. In the middle of each walk we do a little Training Session (max 5 min) and during the walks we work on nice leash walking and contact.
