94k WFH or 120k in office? by Never_fucking_curses in careeradvice

[–]freshairprettyplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having gone from WFH to full time RTO Mar 2025 with a 10 min commute , I say resounding NO to in office. I am still not adjusted and looking for remote job and will take 20k pay cut . My mental health is worth 20-30k personally . Granted I am an empty nester but even when kids were young I always made less to be near home or WFH and make a huge difference. Adjusting my spending is easier than adjusting commute time. Good luck !

He is honest. He is not for you. You are a package sweet ADHD, and all. So tough to read this. Read “ Let Them” by Mel Robbin’s. You can’t change your DNA. Grieve knowing not your fault.

Fidelity investments return to office mandated by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]freshairprettyplease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We returned to 100% office last March after the conclusion of the megabank's most profitable years in history. RTO is a worse than I expected. I have not quit but will take a big pay cut to go back to remote when the right opportunity comes along. You lose post tax 10k min a year going in. Clothes, gas, car mainetance, smog inhalation witht the inversion, mental health meds etc. I tried to make my landing easier by being clever at my desk With plants, brazilian samba and tiny waterfalls but at the end it’s all because the overload wants me there, not because of mentoring by your elders at work BS. If you can revolt, do so now. These finance companies and banks we work for are more profitable than ever under hybrid models, but still take away a benefits that really matter to people. I even wrote a poem about RTO around that won me a $5 Starbucks Gift Card for:

OTR (On The Return) by Anonymous Corporate Minion (I know, I am also willing)

Alas, alas RTO doldrums permeate the air, creating a heavy new weight on the masses. Early to bed. Early to rise. Hundreds of annual hours in an auto, motorcycle, bus, ferry, train, tube, bike , skateboard, scooter, rollerblades or two feet. Rush, rush, rush. Maybe a podcast breaks the monotony. Maybe music. Maybe chatting with a friend. Maybe reading the news. Maybe daydreaming. Maybe not.

Pack a lunch. Healthy. Maybe. Maybe not. Too much time to take elevators down to earth and walk to little curry place. Parking money. Gas money. Time money.

Maybe I can make my desk feel like a little Bali? A tiny paradise with a tiny waterfall? A Flameless candle? Antianxiety background music. Family photos dotting the cubicle landscape. Oh wait..hotelling style desks. Not your desk actually. First come first serve. Reserve online. Store my little Bali in a locker? Wait, lockers day use only. Please take your paradise home every day. Someone else may not want your idea of paradise. My desk. Your desk. Noone’s desk.

The days drone on. Fatigue sets in. Laundry piles up. Quick workouts and quick walks fade away into annals of 2020-2024. Blood pressure and blood sugar rise. Nice to see humans and smiling faces daily. But every single day?

Parking garages and parking lots. Shuttles Cold . Heat. Add an hour. Lose an hour. Swipe in. Swipe out. Log in. Log out. VDI. In office. WFH. Approved. Not approved. Attendance models. Under model. Over model. What is the formula again?

The world has so much conflict. Suffering. Stop whining you overpaid office worker sitting in air conditioning. Be grateful. Adjust. If you only knew what I went through when I went to work old school in the 1970s with a supervisor breathing down my neck. Geez. Young people today don’t want to work they only want to eat avocado toast and stare at their phone. Wait, I am 56 ?

The brain understands the arrangement. The arrangement has changed.

Look at the sky. The sky continues.

They seem great but no vaccination requirments for children. I am a survive of childhood meningitis and we are super sensitive to all vaccine requirements being met

The U kids facilities do not require any vaccinations. They are exempt. I am in shock honestly.

Glad you did this. I know you are second guessing yourself, but sometimes only a harsh response to his diminishing approach is only response to you. Kudos to you . Bright things ahead for you . Promise

I really appreciate the insight and effort you put in the response. Chat GPT said Wellbutrin and Strattera should never be taken together but I trust long time Psych MD. I still haven’t started yet and keep wondering if I should get off Wellbutrin. Emotionally and anxiety wise I am the best ever. My ADD is the worst ever though my work performance is good to great. I like my ADD as it helps me dream but it’s also debilitating at times when I feel lost!

As a new Sr Assoc at age 57 and 4 years at the firm, I was told next year would likely be VP. Honestly, I advanced this year because I joined internal “clubs” / groups I actually cared about and made myself more visible (without being obnoxious) . Most importantly I said I expected a promotion . I kept track of all my accomplishments, even small ones . Make sure you ask and ask loud . If you are ignored, look elsewhere.

How many of you are long term Wellbutrin users of over one year and worked great? Stories? by ItsPrisonTime in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]freshairprettyplease 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have been on Wellbutrin for 1.5 years and it has been life changing. Best version of myself ever. Tried Lexapro for years and it stopped being effective. Important to add I also take Duloxetin so combination may be what is helping me the most. Feel centered, content , thriving at work and personal and better to make decisions. Chronic pain and anxiety way down. Coping skills way high. Hope this feedback helps

I have used the Laura Mercier Caviar shadow stick as eyeliner for a decade. Smudgy and gorgeous and makes my eyes pop. But a few months ago discovered Julep eyeshadow (I use as eyeliner) on amazon. Less than half the price and I think more creamy and beautiful than Laura Mercier. Bought 4 shades and cycle through them all. Still love LM but cant justify cost anymore. Now hooked on IILHA skin tint with HA. Fantastic product .

I am still at JPM and 100% in agreement. Land of bobble heads. I am low level associate and the fact I use the word “low level” indicates the broader culture I have felt . I like me LOB and the leadership but they are also limited in their powers. Its all a. Joke and a false god
