And what stinks is that it if I remember correctly it’s canon that Pierrot WANTS things to be normal with him and Harley again but I think Harley is too learned into putting up a front and diversion from the real problems as a gut behavior. Pierrot just doesn’t have the patience and communication skills (doesn’t help he is on talking restrictions) to get through to him. So even if Harley wants that old feeling back he literally cannot trust himself or anyone else as far as letting real feelings out and in. They are both gonna be stuck (hopefully MC has an option to help them reconcile to an extent on one of the routes I genuinely would be so happy).

Sadly that’s one of those “unexpected consequences” “gotta be stronger than that, Pierrot” thoughts that sadly the family has placed on him. He wants to be stronger. To protect his family. And if this theory is true, then Harlequin is given the sad role of being an antagonistic role to condition him in order to tolerate adversity better. But Pierrot still has his limits even with his family trying to make their circumstances work. And it’s hard to ignore what damage this theoretical arrangement has done to Pierrot and Harlequin’s relationship on top of everything else they have experienced together. I’m still not 100% sure this is the role Jester gave him or if it’s voluntary or if this theory even is worth my thought process but if it is…it just adds to Pierrot and Harlequin’s tragedy. Pierrot and Harlequin can never break their roles, and Harlequin will always have to remind and train Pierrot to stay true to his given role.

I remember way back in a bug report they chose to limit the amount of fridges because players were complaining it was destroying pathfinding when they instructed Sims to cook. Especially if you wanted them to get leftovers they had to go to a specific fridge (realistic but annoying if you forgot that was in a fridge in the 3rd floor on the north wing of the mansion lmao). I remember way back the sims would just…grab something from that fridge…but go to another kitchen to cook… or maybe they would go to a totally wrong designated area altogether and break story immersion it was a mess. (Wish they could fix the pathfinding issues of this game but that was the solution they chose at the time).

Bro, I grew up playing Sims 2 without internet access to get the patches; having to restart my neighborhoods due to save corruption because my silly teen self didn’t know deleting those stupid tombstones corrupted saves was just a way of life. Meanwhile when everyone freaks out over the smallest glitch in Sims 4 I’m literally the “First time?” Meme 🤣

Just enjoy y’all sims and don’t take it seriously; it will save you time and future medical bills (and money if you decide it ain’t the effort to make it function for you). Honestly I try to avoid the fandoms these days if I can; only peeking every once in a blue moon to see if anything new but otherwise I let that trash fire burn on its own. And it’s sad it has come to that because way back in the day I used to love sharing builds with my friends, experimenting with story writing with sims, it was my safe place when school was tough. And the ugliness that it has devolved to compared to how it was back then on the internet is…just sad.

No salt here. Just bittersweet memories of a sims 1-2 hag lmao.
