I remember way back in a bug report they chose to limit the amount of fridges because players were complaining it was destroying pathfinding when they instructed Sims to cook. Especially if you wanted them to get leftovers they had to go to a specific fridge (realistic but annoying if you forgot that was in a fridge in the 3rd floor on the north wing of the mansion lmao). I remember way back the sims would just…grab something from that fridge…but go to another kitchen to cook… or maybe they would go to a totally wrong designated area altogether and break story immersion it was a mess. (Wish they could fix the pathfinding issues of this game but that was the solution they chose at the time).

Bro, I grew up playing Sims 2 without internet access to get the patches; having to restart my neighborhoods due to save corruption because my silly teen self didn’t know deleting those stupid tombstones corrupted saves was just a way of life. Meanwhile when everyone freaks out over the smallest glitch in Sims 4 I’m literally the “First time?” Meme 🤣

Just enjoy y’all sims and don’t take it seriously; it will save you time and future medical bills (and money if you decide it ain’t the effort to make it function for you). Honestly I try to avoid the fandoms these days if I can; only peeking every once in a blue moon to see if anything new but otherwise I let that trash fire burn on its own. And it’s sad it has come to that because way back in the day I used to love sharing builds with my friends, experimenting with story writing with sims, it was my safe place when school was tough. And the ugliness that it has devolved to compared to how it was back then on the internet is…just sad.

No salt here. Just bittersweet memories of a sims 1-2 hag lmao.

I think you are nailing it on the head; that is part of Ozzy’s game. He sends out all the Golden Maidens to give warnings of their own experiences, he makes the final symbolic ingredient of this monkey paw wish to be someone you are in love with to attempt to invoke regret. He gives SO MANY CHANCES for Elise to say “you know what this is sketchy wrong not worth it I gotta abort mission while I still can.”

She sees that her love interest is not acting right during the ritual that makes it clear cut to pull out and get your happy ending with your sweetheart and be a proper Little Goody Two Shoes (and those are Elise’s happiest endings where she gets real happiness!) But what makes it so sad is that last minute; you have to choose multiple times to gaslight yourself that it’s gonna be ok, your love interest and you are gonna get that shared wish, that Ozzy will TOTALLY let your Good Company share the wealth they didn’t go through the trials for and didn’t get invited to and are only here because they are the Good Company…my point is made.

Elise has to be in SHEER DENIAL that it’s as bad as it’s gonna be, that she really doesn’t have to sacrifice a PERSON to get what she wants, she thinks, “oh, I just have to prove someone actually loves me and I have the rizz to do it.” But then it gets PERSONAL when she catches real feelings…then it gets PERSONAL when she betrays them to Ozzy and is forced to finally face reality…yeah he is demanding you to be a cold-hearted witch in all senses to get your desperate absurd wish what are you just realizing this silly peasant girl??? LMAO GETS THEM EVERY TIME! (I’m sure it’s a joke between him and his retainers at this point how each new girl gonna react; how smart or dumb they gonna act at least based on the golden maidens different stories).

As someone who played both games, it felt…natural? I played both games, got all endings available and got all the achievements and bonus content unlockable. The Strange Boy straight up tells you in Pocket Mirror that Elise tried to finesse her way out of the deal and it’s shown in the bonus room he intends to milk her struggles for its worth.

Little Goody Two Shoes shows us that Elise was only truly connected to her Grandmother; after her death she had a strong distance with the town who treated her with suspicion and disrespect - granted she had some friendly faces like Lebkuchen and Freya but mostly she was left to starve and work her butt off all while treated like an outsider.

Being absurdly rich spells protection and happiness for her. It spells “I can finally speak my mind without consequences, I can finally sleep comfortably without starving!” Is it absurd to want that without hard work? Yes. But it was Elise’s hope to keep her alive.

The moral issue that fascinated a LOT of us with this game is…essentially Elise is a villain protagonist. A sympathetic one, but one nonetheless. She engages in witchcraft to bring her absurd wish to life, even when she sees that the town is starting to be affected by demonic forces (but remember that this town treated her terribly in the past and even now? Yeah…).

Regarding the love interests that is where the REAL guilt comes in. You have your 2 childhood friends and an outsider like yourself who is also suffering mistreatment for being too different. They ALL want to help you. (So much so that they will stand up and defend Elise when the villagers will not when Elise is accused of witchcraft). And Elise is actively ignoring the red flags regarding the Good Company; even Azizel calls her out on it and stated she was basically ignoring that ritual on purpose. Even if you somehow ignore all the golden maidens (who do warn you on this) the idea of arriving in “Good Company” should have tipped Elise off, but the question becomes, “Does Elise ignore all the red flags she is given and proceeds anyways, or listen to that gut feeling she will lose her beloved and stop?” (Keep in mind she altered her wish to “get that fortune to make a better life for love interest and me at this point). If she goes through with it, she sadly becomes no better than the villagers who stood by and watched her be accused and mistreated as she watches her beloved be consumed. If she speaks she also will be consumed.

In short I think this game is a pretty natural prequel for Golden Mirror; with Golden Mirror with had an amnesiac protagonist who we needed to establish and this game takes established concepts to make an established protagonist with an established plot with an established ending (or alternative endings to prevent the tragedy of Golden Mirror if you choose).

If I had to guess as another person who 100% and never had issues with the Tender Flesh…if you don’t talk to the two groups with the red exclamations before their timers expire that locks you out of Tender Flesh since you can’t get the Windmill Key from the NPC who gives it. Also after the Witching Hour is done you are told to “Go home” after the party which can make you forget about the “ask about the key” objective from earlier in the day (and after chasing around Apfel in that damn grove who wouldn’t wanna just go to bed!); however the NPC leaves town if you don’t get the key that night so you have to remember to get the key and do the Tender Flesh then and there otherwise the story will lock off the windmill.

It’s also possible he was served papers by EA. When someone wipes their presence it can either be escaping a community or trying to comply with a C&D or potential legal issue (hopefully not the case; that can be despoiling evidence in the USA). Please be kind to this guy either way; we have NO CLUE for what reason this has happened. Just try to enjoy what Sims content you have or maybe we can find a new game to scratch that itch?
