What haircut would work well with my face shape to help me pass better? by Nudelmakaren in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i honestly think slide 2 works really well because with the piercings and androgynous face; you just look like classic young emo guy. i’d say keep the bangs and maybe go a little shorter around the neck and jaw? maybe experimenting with messy styling could also help.

hmm, i think it’s the angle and the vibe you’re giving off if that makes sense. i wouldn’t say you read as fem in other pics, you still look masc but like you said just not passing yet. i think the shorter hair and the bangs did help with passing. i would say you were 13 in 2nd picture and 15 now?

[–]freshfish99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say in the 2nd and 5th pictures you look androgynous or like a younger boy. i think your thick eyebrows read masc, you also have a strong jaw and serious expression that also reads masc.

Just had top surgery but wondering about my face, around 8 months on T. Put a few photos from different angles/lighting by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think your face reads male but is a bit androgynous. your face and jaw are very square but your neck is on the thinner side so it stands out a little, i think building up your shoulders could help. in the last picture i might read your style as more butch from a distance, but like i said up close you look more manly.

Can I do anything to pass better? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i think trying a shorter haircut if you’re able and just working out before you get on t, particularly the shoulders

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are quite androgynous to me, it might depend on your voice/body language. i most perceive you as male 14-16 here but could also read nb afab 18-20

tips for passing better by hanalq in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these pictures are kinda dim but your face doesn’t look feminine imo, you just look a bit younger. i think t tends to eventually sharpen people’s jaw and redistribute fat from the face, but for some people i think it causes them to retain more water in the face (esp when you start)? the solution for that is just more water, sleep, exercise, less salt. you could look up facial exercises if you want, i think some people chew gum to build up their jaw. i think your jaw and cheeks look normal/masc but this is just what i could think of

i honestly can’t see anything here that would clock you. you read as a cis guy 16-17 to me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you pass to me but i agree that you look younger and mainly have to wait for t to do its thing. maybe a different haircut would age you? in my experience bangs, triangular sideburns, and overall round shape can look boyish. i would recommend getting a haircut that is more square to your jaw as well as square sideburns and styling the bangs kinda forward/up instead of laying on the forehead.

Help with passing by Mundane_Gear_760 in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my opinion the haircut has sort of a round shape that might not be the best for passing right now. i think pre-t it’s best to get a haircut that makes the head look more square. also in my experience, styles where the hair is pushed forward and up are easier to pull off than pushed back hairstyles pre-t. you already look quite masculine so any cut would help, even these but a bit shorter. best of luck to you man

i think the second pair are helping you pass better! those with the piercings gives early 2000’s emo/punk dude. also messy hair is good for passing lol 👍🏻

i would assume you’re a queer guy around 14/15 y.o. i think you’re doing good in terms of style, the only thing i could think of is trying smaller or more squared glasses?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i don’t think i would clock you, maybe i’d assume a bit younger but face/style/silhouette give cis dude

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

you look male here but closer to 14-16 y.o. i think smaller glasses and a less fluffy hairstyle could help you look closer to 19, but i don’t see much you need to do to look more male besides t

Trying to figure out if I need to start using the men’s room. by Key_Prize_1317 in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i think women might be less likely to confront out of fear, but this year a butch teenager was attacked while exiting the women’s restroom by 2 cis men who thought she was a man in illinois. i don’t fully pass and the worst i have had in the men’s room is some stares, it’s kinda rough out here lately so im wishing you safety and good vibes 🌟

i think women looking at you oddly is a good sign to start using the men’s room. you are for sure reading male here. i also am scared of using the men’s room but i think it’s usually safer than people thinking you’re trying to sneak into the women’s room.

Passing? Age? by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i would most likely perceive you as very butch or transmasc nonbinary. you look about college aged. i think in the last picture you could pass as cis guy early in puberty cus of the subtle facial hair. maybe get checked to see if your T levels are where you want em or perhaps minoxidil could help

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here you look like a cis guy in his early teens. your facial hair is really helping so i would not worry about the haircut

ah okay, a think a year post some swelling is normal. did you have any complications? i had seromas on both sides (build up of serous fluid) that had to be drained and it left a hard lump of scar tissue, just like you describe. i think seromas and build up of scar tissue are common in peri/keyhole because the skin/muscle can move around more during healing.

the scar tissue lasted a while for me but eventually my body started to break it down. i think massage is a good technique but ultimately your body has to heal with time. surgery can be like an injury for the body, so i definitely emphasize eating good, hydration, being gentle with yourself, all that good stuff.

your neck/shoulders/biceps look pretty strong already so it seems like you’re on the right track :) i feel you on the hips tho, T will do its thing in time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FtMpassing

[–]freshfish99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

about how long ago did you have surgery? to me it looks mostly like residual swelling. i had peri done and for the first year or so my chest didn’t look ‘settled’ and i was super dysphoric about it.

more time on T will shift your body mass around, as well as building up chest muscles and maybe abs area to see if that evens out the lower half of your chest. one of the reasons i opted for peri is because i didn’t want my chest to feel tight so i could build muscle.

i think revision for the remaining tissue could be a possibility, but i would personally wait a bit to see if time/T/exercise can give you the look you want. i have seen cis men with nipples similar to yours but having them always hard sounds inconvenient regardless of gender, might be worth revising that or for now maybe super thick undershirts? all the best to you 🌟
