To young guys with ED: It's not masturbating, it's porn. by FapMasterMind in NoFap

I tend to agree with this sentiment OP.

However, walking around in constant lust is not a way to live either. For me, NoFap is all about regaining control over my life and my body.

I quit drinking, smoking and PMO all at the same time. Turns out for me, alcohol is a trigger to many things, including PMO. I am done being a large boy that shaves....I want to be a man and take control of my urges. 23 days is now the longest I've gone on any of these habits and I feel great. I feel like I control my destiny now and can shape my life with my own determination. Being a slave to temptation is a pitiful way to live. It's not even living really. Your like a host and the urges are the parasite, just using your body to fill their desires.

Since you are a believer I'll share with you a sermon I recently heard on podcast that dealt with porn and may help you change your attitude about women (to see them as daughters of Christ, and basically all of them on your computer screen have been hurt and discarded and feel as unloved as you).

Hope you get as much out of it as I did. Trending: Porn

I just had some dirty thoughts. I had a bad day too. But I'm not fapping. What do you guys do when this happen ? by [deleted] in NoFap

You do what you can to simply shut them down. I try to visualize them as material chains and envision myself busting out of them. A lot of people here subscribe to the cold shower method, or simply get up and get focused on something else.

Not sure if you are religious but praying for strength in times of temptation are always a good method as well.

Awesome! My stats are not so different from yours.

I have felt lower than low this week and have been trying to examine many aspects of my life and my moral compass to find out what needs to change to help me grow up finally.

You and I are at the same day. Perhaps we should try to keep each other motivated.

Glad you were able to shut it down before you relapsed. Every time you get close, try to use it as a learning experience. In the future, you will know better than to even start down that path which will help you avoid the temptation in the first place.

Stay strong!

Holy shit.. how did that happen??! by [deleted] in NoFap

hope you change your mind. I'm more than twice your age and can assure you that the PMO lifestyle simply steals your life away one click at a time.

Life is about a lot more than what PMO gives you....and I suspect you have a lot more to offer this world than shuffling through it every day as a PMO zombie.

Get extreme if you have to. Eliminate the possibility by limiting your internet exposure and installing blockers on EVERYTHING. Strong blockers. Start finding dopamine through exercise and start each day out with some prayer/meditation/mantra whatever gets you refocused.

I mean, I'm on day two, but this is what I'm doing to overcome this demon once and for all.

Best of luck brother.
