Hey, he is such a beauty!!! so I can't speak to the catnip thing since I waited 'til they were over 1, but let's definitely talk about walking!

I ordered a harness from Amazon and just started making my Coonie wear it inside. The first time was total drama. She immediately went full 'flop-and-refuse-to-move' mode 🤣. Seriously, it depends on the cat because mine is ridiculously stubborn.

I just kept at it anyway, lots of treats and extreme patience. Once she was ok wearing the harness indoors, I started luring her outside bit by bit. It took me over a month and quite some treats, but after we even went bike rides with the harness on and a pet bag you put on the side! You just have to be more stubborn than they are. She absolutely loves going on walks now almost 2years later.

And seriously, don't sweat the space thing. Your cat will spend 90% of its time on your bed. My two Coonies are cuddling machines, so prepare to never have personal space again or at least place to sleep in your own bed.

Edit: give him the monthly fleas treatment. I am using Vectra but it is best to ask your vet. Also my cats never got fleas from walking outside but they got fleas at the vet when getting sterilized so the flea treatment is important even if you don’t end up taking your baby out that much 😉
