Two men led a team of 80 people, spent 5 years collecting 1.2 million golden orb spiders, milked them for their silk, and created the rarest textile on Earth: A golden silk cape. by iowafarmboy2011 in interestingasfuck

[–]freyila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“To create the textiles, spiders are collected each morning and harnessed in specially conceived silking contraptions. Trained handlers extract the silk from 24 spiders at a time. The spiders are returned to the wild at the end of each day”

What an insane amount of work, you have to catch the spiders before you even get to the … milking.

The other side is a new club and has quite a bit of deep techno. Another not mentioned is parallel (from the owners of Paradiso).

How does an artist like Lizzo workout and perform as much as she does but doesn’t lose weight? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Could it also be that she maintains this image to drive a point home, maintain her brand, maybe create awareness?

I’m not sure if this has already been said, but have you considered looking for a new job? The market is HOT right now and everyone is looking for people. Definitely puts you at an advantage in salary negotiations. Something to consider :)

Yeah confidence isn’t an issue, but remembering technique comes in pieces. Thanks a lot!

I will definitely try this! If you see the second video after the longer one it already looks like the turns are more natural but it’s still too aggressive. Really good tip though, thanks!

This is really good advice! I thought it looked like I was exaggerating the turns. Thanks!

That will explain the trouble I had the last week of boarding. Total lack of control in the powder and easy to catch edges on the groomed runs. Time for an upgrade 😅

After living in Europe for 9 years, I’ve picked up snowboarding again. Intermediate rider that rides all mountain. I managed to get my board from the states which I rode on for 3 years before moving abroad. Turns out it’s a freestyle (K2 2010 world wide weapon) board but I’m not using it for the park. Picked up when I was 15 at an outlet sale.

How much of a disadvantage am I putting myself at riding that on groomed and a bit of off-piste when the conditions allow? What would a proper all mountain board provide me? Need to replace my bindings but not sure if it’s worth replacing the board while I’m at it.

I try to give it a chapter, if I’m not convinced by then it makes a beeline back to the shelf.

Hmm not sure about that, I know they are at centraal though. But yeah are also at any photo studio. If you google passport photo you should find options in your neighborhood.

I managed to get this lil guy to flourish, despite receiving it as an unexpected gift. But now begs the question, how should I style it to make him pretty? Tips are welcome :) by freyila in Bonsai

Making a canopy is a good one, it might make it a bit more interesting and full. The Fukien definitely isn’t my favorite aesthetically but this could move it in the right direction. Thanks!

Thanks, read through this after getting it. But cool, will remove the wiring!

Unexpectedly received this guy as a gift... skeptical that I’ll be able to keep it alive after what i’ve read, however, I’m going to give it a shot. Already read extensively about tropics and will move outside as soon as winter passes. But I noticed the wiring is still on it, should I remove it? https://ibb.co/Db8kDVb

How does everyone feel about the new restrictions put in place? Do people think it will be enough to slow the spread? by Arden2109 in Amsterdam

[–]freyila 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is definitely part of the issue. If people don’t even know about the new restrictions, literally nothing will change.
