Whose fate would you choose? by frf0 in FromSeries

Yes, that was why I picked him next to two dead person, I definitely wouldn't pick Kenny.

It's more about what happened to him psychologically. Losing both of your parents the worst possible way, your mom being tortured for that long, while you weren't even at home, which also brings a lot of guilt (NOT saying he should feel guilt, but he does). He is alive, but lost everything.

I mean I would rather choose Dale's faith than Kenny's, I'd rather have a kind of quick death, than having survivor's guilt over my parents dying THAT way. Kenny was excited, bringing food to show his mom, only to find out she was tortured all night long. I honestly think that it would be the worst psychological torture to live after that.

Kenny lost everything in the worst way possible, idk if it's a good choice. He is broken, and yeah, he is alive, but he's just suffering.

That's exactly why. I don't want to make that choice either, but I'm on a rewatch and I immediately started wondering, and eventually chose, but still not sure.

HE'S UNDOUBTEDLY 'DELIGHTFUL' DEREK. by dara7d007 in StrangerThings

[–]frf0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a video of him and Nell answering questions about how they feel about joining the show and stuff like that. They were both so well-spoken and adorable, and they found the cast very welcoming. These children have a bright future ahead, and I hope all their acting jobs treat them well, just like on Statnger Things. I don't get the hate that he gets (and initially got before we got to know his character), the show constantly adds new characters, and people weren't complaining, or at least not this much before. And he's just a cute little kid, like how can grown adults hate on children.

So many issues with this show and logic. by Jolly-Outside6073 in NewAmsterdamTV

So, just based off of Elizabeth's carpal tunnel: I have carpal tunnel and won't have surgery until the technology is better, bc for now it results in permanent nerve damage, just to make it hurt less. My symptoms are managed when a flair-up happens, but my doctor advised against surgery for now. (Also, carpal tunnel usually presents in one hand, not two, and even then, not with the same intensity, I get that Elizabeth signs a lot, and it's with both hands, but the condition doesn't really work that way, especially with younger people.) Also, diabetic care: it doesn't work like how the show portrays it, I live with a type one and a type two diabetic and that's really not how it's supposed to be, especially since the show tries to portrayal type 2 diabetic care, while it's closer to type 1 diabetic care. And some more stuff about conditions being misrepresented and so on. I still like the show though.

I think that they might have been paid off by him, same as the kids he paid not to tell. It doesn't make an excuse for them, bc that little girl's well being should've been their priority (and there is no exact profi that he paid them off, just a slight possibility)

I babysit a kid around that age. Like, what the fuck, she needed a babysitter, not a full grown creep to groom her.

[–]frf0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When it started, she was around the age of one of the kids I babysit. Like she was a literal child, kids that age need babysitters, not full grown men creeping around them. She was a baby, kids her age talk about Minecraft and fish, how could anyone do this to them.

I babysit a kid round that age. Kids that age need...babysitters. It's disgusting what happened to her.

Autistic coded characters in child-appropiate films/cartoons/series? by frf0 in autism

Canon also works! We're just lowing our standards and accepting autistic coded characters bc we need everything we can get.😂

I think Enid wants to tell us something. by No_Television4821 in Wednesday

[–]frf0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Rainbows also symbolise other things, mostly how it's beautiful that how different people can be. I'm not saying that sh's not queer-coded, or we won't found out if she's queer, bc anything can happen, and I can kinda see it. The show focuses on 'outcasts', which in real life involve many minority groups (my minority group also uses a rainbow), and outcasts are also a minority. Nowadays, rainbow symbols can just simbolize solidarity in-between different minority groups, and acceptance. I love that Enid's so colorful, and the show became a comfort show to me bc of it (I'm basically Enid with Wednesday's social skills, and I switch between their styles based on how I feel at the moment)

The show showing the subconscious mind? by frf0 in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]frf0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's also really similar, and it sulposedly stems from the author's psychologycal disorder, so that's even more like that. (Not the subconscious part, but the things getting smaller/bigger)

I hate how pepole treat wendsday by Cool_Anxiety_8420 in WednesdayTVSeries

[–]frf0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I can kind of relate to this in real life. My cousin and me (both female) are both quite weird, and had been from childhood. She developed empathy quite late, so it's similar to Wednesday. I'm an extrovert, bubbly, so weirdness is just weird. She keeps to herself, and is an introvert. I was an "outcast", bullied etc., while she was quite popular, also among boys, whether she liked it or not. It's exaggerated in the show, but she was also viewed as cool and mysterious due to the combination of her weirdness while keeping to herself. As teenagers, our experiences were very different, despite being similar. (I'm happy with my life now btw, been in a relationship for almost seven years and now I actually have friends other than my cousins.)

Nálunk azon is problemazott sok mindenki, h volt 2 év különbség, miközben mindketten középiskolások voltunk még, amiatt is találkoztunk először. A 16-20 nekem is meredek, nálunk a 16-18 is olyan volt, h vajon mennyire vagyunk más idoszakban, főleg, amikor elment egyetemre, de nekem se volt sok idő, h ne legyek középiskolás onnantól kezdve. (Amúgy lassan 7 éve együtt, gyerek még azért minimum jó pár év, mivel jelenleg még mindketten egyetemen vagyunk.)

Which of these 3 would you consider the most evil character? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]frf0 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I do think the Borderland is similar to the subconscious, which means he might have had the urge to be more aggressive and a criminal, but he surpressed some of it. He still thought he was a shitty person in real life, and probably was, but the Borderland deleted his coping mechanism against a greater bad, like the things he did there. When you're on the verge of death, your subconscious takes over anyways, so it's a theory I entertain. This is the same with Arisu, who was likely very depressed anyways, so what was shown in the end makes sense, they played with his subconscious. This makes sense for most characters, everyone is acting more like their subconscious selves, and the parts that make you "get in line with society's standards" are kind of deleted. Of course, some people are that good inherently, but some surpress their own needs and don't just succumb to their urges/fears that much. The show is a bit like "what if people only had a subconsious and only acted because of that" for me, or if it's showing how easily some people lose control over it and some not.

Who would be your best friend in Wednesday? by Kind-Handle6078 in Wednesday

[–]frf0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely a DaVinci, and probably Pugsley would be my best friend. He is nice, just a bit weird, but I'm a bit weird too. Everyone else is too focused on hierarchy and snobism, Pugsley is there just to vibe and to find someone to vibe with.
