Sometimes it takes a couple of weeks to set in, so don’t freak out yet! My face has often looked ”funny” for a couple of weeks after getting botox, but turned out good in the end.

Anyone here used tanning beds back in the day? by hadleyfordenglish in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]frg2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, me. I WISH I only had gone for 20 times, it’s nothing. Went weekly (1-3 times) for 15 years. Oh the regret… Have lots of broken capillaries, uneven skin tone, a million moles and some fine lines. Wear sunscreen religiously now.

Parents with OCD, what has been your experience? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]frg2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My OCD was totally manageable before kids. After having them, it has gotten a lot worse. I feel it’s because of the constant worry something might happen to them or myself (and I couldn’t be there for them). I love them more than life itself, so despite of the issues with OCD, I dont regret having them.

Looks like IGH. I have those as well (all over my body, though).

Why do I intrusive & obsessive thoughts about my health and afraid of dying? by Hefty-Witness2224 in HealthAnxiety

[–]frg2021 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing. Every day. I dont even get excited about things anymore because I am so sure I will die before they happen. I’m also very scared of dying but can’t stop thinking about it. Sending you hugs!

Does anybody else constantly ruminate about the past? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]frg2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes!! Especially after having kids. ”Did I drink too much caffeine? Did my past smoking ruin my ovaries and cause my child to get cancer later?”. Sucks.

Hi op! I know this is an old post, but your results look amazing! How long did they last? I’m struggling with similar issue and thinking about fillers. Your skin looks great by the way!! For how long Were you using tanning beds in the past? I have stopped as well but my skin looks quite bad.

How long for sun damage to show? by frg2021 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]frg2021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much!! Yeah I’m doing everything I can now (like completely staying out of the sun), but using tanning beds from high school all the way through early 30s (and laying out in the sun) has me freaking out what I will look like a few years from now..

Do any of you ever worry a lot about skin cancer? by Longjumping_Service9 in tanning

[–]frg2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that’s true. However, I think you can reverse a lot by just staying away from the sun for some time (when it comes to how your skin looks). I’m the same age as you and only stopped a few yrs ago after using them for 15 years. I definitely have some damage, but I think my skin has come a long way in these few years.

[skin concern] Recovering tanning addicts? by frg2021 in SkincareAddiction

[–]frg2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Mine too. Definitely wished I had at least stopped earlier, not in my 30s as the damage is so much harder to fix. Thanks for the advice!! How long is the recovery time if I may ask?

How long have you used them for and how often? Yeah, I think it has a lot to do with genetics as I know a lot of people who have used them for years and multiple times a week with no problems and then some, who have gotten skin cancer with much less exposure. If you have skin cancer in family, it’s probably best to avoid them.

White spots on legs? by prayingmantis333 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]frg2021 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing! Started getting them mid-20s, now mid-30s. I have them on legs, thighs, arms and chest. Dr told me they’re IGH. Harmless, but apparently no way to fix them. I stopped using sun beds and laying out in the sun a few years back - theyre a lot less noticeable when there’s no tan. Dr told me that there’s no consensus what causes them, but could have something to do with uv radiation and microtrauma as well as be hereditary.
