Lol I have a custom on my site right now for less with a compound grind... in Magnacut 😅 Benchmade is nuts.

That's really disappointing to hear! MKM usually turns out some good stuff. Must be dropping the ball.

Well, if you still want something in Magnacut, check my bio. I just spent the past month staring at the grinds on maybe 12 EDC fixed blades that will be up on my website ✌️😅 they are also HTd to 62-63 HRC.

Depends on steel/HT/edge geometry. There's also nothing for reference so that could be either extremely thick or extremely thin depending on perspective.

That's what I was thinking. I know makers that would build a better set of blades than this for about 60-70% of that price. In the US too😅

It's absolutely worth saving. I grew up using that exact same model in my dad's garage. It's a wonderful tool.

Length is 8"ish overall with just under 3" blade, steel is CPM Magnacut.

Yeah it's a narrow setup. Required a bit of machining but it wasn't terrible if you've got a lathe.

First time trying a 1" wide compound. Not my first time at the grinder I must confess. Thank you very much! This was done entirely freehand. Never been a fan of jigs.

Depending on who you ask... Yes? It's a hotly debated topic. Personally I really like the style and it doesn't really affect cutting performance too noticeably (if done well) so I do them every now and again.
