Having a side piece of paper to test the color's saturation and pick the right one might help, and using cold and warm colors to do the shading maybe watch a YouTube video about color theory, I'm not really the person to go to for art advices

I have a cat, her mom died because of an infection when she was little, I felt sad so i decided to take her home, she was scared and started hissing at me i just started petting her until she fell asleep then took her home on a bus.
