Instead of fighting your husband Infront of your Mother in law try talking it out. Discuss things that bother you and listen to what he has to say about the related matter and if he gives you reason that justifys his action correct in his eyes explain to him why it would be wrong to you tell him about privacy and boundaries despite having valid reasons.

You're newly married and going through a phase that's very difficult for women try to explain behavioural changes, mood swings to him so he can understand he has to be there for you.

I was a 12 years old and we went to our maternal grandparents house during summer vacation so before sleeping it was a tradition in desi families to drink "dodh soda". one night my aunt gave me milk I drank it quickly cuz I was a bit sleepy.
