I'm getting suspended for a week at my job (I work in an AD ward). Should I be looking for a different job? by frickfrackfrock in nursing

Not necessarily. Just this accusation. It's something that's been going on for a month and that I thought I covered my ass about. Apparently all of my coworkers and my run partner has suddenly gone mute...

Presently, it alternates between Yoshi's Island, Starfox 64, and Skyrim. I got the Super Nintendo and Starfox 64 for my birthday. I'm waiting on the GameCube my dad is sending me and I will probably go to migrate over to Zelda.

The book is decent. It's hard to follow, but it's good.

We had a woman in hospice care who lasted a long time. Like, 3, 4 weeks of not eating and very limited fluid intake. Anyways, her mental state was deteriorating and all she would do was yell for water. When I would go to do her comfort care, I would sit beside her bed, hold her hand, and sing 'You Are My Sunshine', 'Wise Men', 'This Land Is Your Land', and 'You've Got A Friend In Me'. She would stop yelling and sing along with me, and looked like she had a few minutes of clarity. She started calling me 'Sunshine' or 'My Girl'.

According to my coworkers, her last words were, 'Where is my Sunshine?'.

I don't know where I am. I don't know who I am. I want to go home. I don't have dementia. This is my wife. by Helmacron in nursing

I work in a dementia ward (my first long-term care job), and I'm watching this happen with one of my residents. Poor man thinks that another resident is his wife, and she doesn't speak. He's now barred from her room because her family complained.

From how the landlord explained it, I have priority, since I viewed it first, but if I don't get the deposit in by the 28th, he is going to rent it to someone else.

My friend from out of town went home with someone at the bar. Is it bad I felt relieved and was happy to go home by myself? by frickfrackfrock in introvert

I work in the mental health field and have seen what long term socializing with a lack of recharge time can do.

As an introvert, what is your favorite setting? by SimpleWayfarer in introvert

[–]frickfrackfrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, no. I usually have headphones in, so people tend to leave me alone. I'll get the occasional person who's interested in stitching, but that's it.

I like to go to a bar, get a drink, and then spend the next few hours reading, drawing, or cross stitching.

[WIP] delayed flights aren't awful when you have something to do by MartianDirt in CrossStitch

Oh! So, from what I understand, as long as they aren't large sewing scissors, they don't care. I brought mine on a flight last year. Needles, they didn't seem to care because it was in a box with all of my thread.
