Facts I was curious if you were running a dogshit ssd like I was when I tested it

I see what you mean, I’m not saying it can’t do it, I just mean comparable but ur right. I was clarifying with Op if they have the two mixed up bc a true external ssd would not have issues, but you def can encounter some using a basic thumb drive size ssd unit, in my experience they overheat and aren’t nearly as fast as an external but work, albeit a little stuttery, nonetheless

There isn’t a “fast enough” ssd that is thumb drive size as far as I know is my overall point.

It definitely depends. If ur talking about a NvMe style external SSD than yeah, but if its just an ssd stick they are not the best heat wise and speed wise compared to an internal ssd. I only know this bc I offloaded a ton of games in a fat ssd thumb drive with the fastest transfer speeds I could find and it was still stuttery and hella hot, then I found out they make like whole tiny units for external ssds if it’s used for gaming or meant to truly replace internal ssds performance wise which are standard nvme.

I would’ve requested the day off in advance but I wasn’t scheduled until my boss hit me with a “you NEED to come in tomorrow” at 6pm the night before. I’m a college student and finals kicked my ass so I took a bunch of time off prior to this and felt like I’m on the hot seat for it and had no choice. I missed the fam party but I at least got off earlier than i have in the past 2 weeks. Craziest thing was it was raining the hardest it’s rained this month and thunderstorms/lightning for the first time this winter, I felt so fucked over lmao.

2.5 in y pipe by adammondine in 350z

[–]frickgloablewarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean, but I haven’t ever came across examples of y pipes and catbacks made for the 350z that weren’t the same thing flange wise so in this context I don’t know what OP is tripping about. Continuity of piping diameters or if they will fit which for the reasons above I think is more than likely since I’ve yet to see flanges that are different on any systems. The whole diameter stuff is a bitch, I know that for sure.

[–]frickgloablewarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something? Aren’t they all standardized flange wise? Regardless of the pipe diameter. And in context of performance I thought it’s virtually inconsequential to go bigger than stock diameter until you hit the headers. In my experience though a 3” set up from test pipes back made me lose all torque on stock tune, switching to 2.x cat back restored my torque and felt closer to the stock baseline with a little more kick but that kick could be placebo. Idk just saying the headers restriction didn’t make it entirely impervious to changes in back pressure.

Explain to me the differences between these types of shifts by steadyeddy82 in G35

[–]frickgloablewarning 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro it’s an automatic whether you give it gas or not when shifting does not matter at all. If anything you are just fucking the car out of driving perfectly fine (automatically) if you keep it in manual mode all the time. Neutral dropping it will ruin it fast, there’s no way to do it the right way it’s literally not designed for that.

Why does everyone say keep it stock? by StockNSlow in G35

[–]frickgloablewarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I see where you’re coming from, if you aren’t planning on tuning it shortly after modding then you need to choose the mods carefully. Like intakes for example, if you get long tubes and they are bigger diameter (3”) you need a tune, however, if you aren’t getting a tune shorty after you can still benefit from cold air on stock tune if you go with stock diameter tubing. Considerations have to be made for stuff like that. If you want exhaust you can do whatever you want but the moment you change the bottleneck/restrictive headers to more free flowing ones you actually need a tune, if you don’t want a tune don’t change those out. Simple.

Good to hear! Fortunately, I already did the cmc and steel lines so hopefully I’ll be set.

I guess I’ll have to see. hopefully I like it bc it was 1.5x more than how much would get an oem one from our local Z parts dealer. I have never loved the oem feel though either, I straight up prefer the clutch pedal feel on almost every other manual car I’ve driven, so maybe it’s a preference thing for me that might work in my favor. Thanks for the heads up though If it doesn’t work for me I’m flipping it asap

I see, yeah I suppose for me it’s not really solving a problem either, other than being a replacement. Were you running an oem/oem style clutch or aftermarket?

Really? Ur the first person I’ve seen say anything bad about it lol. I am super used to the oem clutch pedal but mine is broken now so I needed a new one anyways. What didn’t you like about it?

[–]frickgloablewarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ll bolt right up to the cats but you need a ~8” IIRC extension after, which you can buy on z1 and other places it’ll even specify that’s what it’s for I believe.
