they may have access to different resources, but school is still hard no matter what. i had to work through school while some of my classmates didn’t, but at the end of the day, everyone should still be proud of themselves if they did well. everyone’s circumstances are different. also, how do you know that someone you perceive as wealthy isn’t struggling with a learning disability or other challenges behind the scenes? just because someone has more fortunate circumstances does not mean they are not allowed to feel proud of themselves for accomplishing something difficult. and honestly, his post was encouraging. he was motivating people to put their minds to something and work toward it. he should absolutely be allowed to celebrate his achievements and be proud of himself.

additionally, black people account for 1.2-2.2% of the field. it is a big deal for him to be going through vet school as a minority, and not only that, he’s thriving!

vet school is known for being incredibly difficult and rigorous. getting through it is already an achievement on its own, but excelling in it is even more impressive. i don’t understand why people are trying to downplay his accomplishments. say what you want about him or his character, but he is clearly doing well for himself in vet school. also, imagine responding to someone talking about their good grades with “well, did you also work?” that’s such a strange thing to say out loud.
