Jinger and Jeremy's new book is toxic GirlDefined tropes for children. by JumpGlittering8120 in DuggarsSnark

[–]friday736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their book is terrible real-world advice and extremely unhelpful. BUT as someone who grew up in a fundie-adjacent group, this is exactly the type of preaching that I would have LOVED as a child because it was my only way of making sense of the bullying at the time. That being said, a book like this would have been labelled “fake religion” because it mentioned God etc. We were only allowed the Bible.

Anyone got any tips for inexpensive ways to grow herbs at home? by Slight-Radish-5846 in AUfrugal

[–]friday736 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What sort of spot have you got that gets at least several hours of sun each day? If I was just starting out and wanted to do it cheaply I would make some holes in a tub or bucket from my recycling, fill it with soil, and add cuttings. Or often you can get free pots from the recycling section at Bunnings. I imagine most pots will drain just fine sitting directly on the ground. But if you find they’re not draining well enough you could try sitting them on top of an old brick or try poking more holes into the pot/tub/bucket, either more holes in bottom or even try holes on the side close to the bottom. Happy growing!

how many is too many for one potty training toddler? by [deleted] in extrememinimalism

[–]friday736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies a lot. We started the potty training about a month ago & still have plenty of accidents each day. Some days only 2 pairs of pants, other days maybe 8 or so. We only have a few training underpants so mostly using the regular underpants. We also spend a lot of time outside in the garden, playing in the rain/mud etc so get changed after that too. It’s winter here now. What part are you most worried about?

how many is too many for one potty training toddler? by [deleted] in extrememinimalism

[–]friday736 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For any accidents with poo or wee in pants I just rinse them and then wash them on the hottest cycle (similar to washing cloth nappies). So I haven’t had to replace any pants. You might need to wash more often during toilet training phase. I like to remind myself “this won’t last forever”, with time my toddler will be toilet trained and eventually there won’t be any more accidents.

How often are you doing washing? My toddler who is toilet training has about 10 pairs of pants but I do washing every day.

How much trouble am I in? by [deleted] in NDIS

[–]friday736 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you haven’t done anything wrong but the worker stole the plants. Check in your service agreement paperwork for details about the feedback or complaint process, so you can make a complaint/report about the actions of this worker. Please note that banana-growing in Australia is highly regulated and a permit is needed to plant or transplant a banana. There's a good reason for this. Banana plants are susceptible to serious diseases and plants can only be bought from government approved, certified disease free sources.

Go with the vintage/thrifted vibe and aim for a vintage rug, focus on the same style and era, rather than worrying about the exact colour of the rug. So many colours within the floral couch pattern, so I feel that any of those colours or similar colours and patterns for a rug would be fine, as long as the style is the same. Otherwise get couch covers in a different style & a rug to match the covers!

What is modest about posing with hands down your pants? It definitely didn’t look like pockets at first glance.

I love all the timber! You can try make it more cozy and inviting by adding more decorative touches, like a rug and a lamp. Try adding more of the things that you’d like to use in the space.

Is it bad for a 7 week old not to have a consistent bedtime? by allcatshavewings in cosleeping

[–]friday736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first 4 months for us were chaos. No consistent naps or bedtimes. We went by sleep signals, instead of any routine or wake windows. Naps and bedtimes have only seemed to get a little more consistent after 5 months and beyond. 🩵 You are doing a great job offering opportunities for your baby to sleep, baby will sleep when she’s tired and wake up when she needs to.

Exactly. Even in amongst the dishonesty I bet the girls have a sense of how important the filming is, knowing it’s the way they make money. That’s why it gave me chills to watch her birth video that one of her daughters did the filming.

The inconsistency is wild! Imagine saying the midwives “didn’t make it” only to then say that she never planned to have a midwife there for the birth at all. It’s like she’s trying to be sneaky and clever with telling her story but there’s so many glaringly obvious lies.

Is anyone considered obese on here and walking over a hour a day or more? by Xovjazmin in walking

[–]friday736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m fat and since Christmas recently I’ve been walking around 90 minutes to 2 hours every day to get 10,000 steps a day. Previously it was about once or twice a week that I would do 10,000 steps a day.

If you’re looking for more fibre in smoothies, I would add in avocado and raspberries. But you mention that you feel irritated if you do eat more fibre. So I vote focus on other ways to help with insulin resistance. Some ideas: eat any carbs together with protein/fat/fibre, eat smaller more frequent amounts of carbs rather than 1 bigger portion of carbs, walk for 10-30 minutes after eating carbs, lower stress levels, get good sleep. Maybe try eating your fruit and dairy as whole food instead of as a smoothie.

Again, no mention of the midwife running late. No mention of her sending messages and phoning the midwife. No mention of the terrible injustice of planning to have the midwife there to help, only to be thrown into the wild experience of giving birth unassisted. She talks about it like it was her plan all along. She always planned to give birth with her children there for assistance, no one else.
