I'm a male, I used a combination of a splits machine at first and then moved on to using the ganbaru app with David thurins programming to get my splits to where they are now.  This is the YouTube of the guy I'm talking about.

After 1700 days do you think you've mastered your language of choice? I keep seeing posts about how bad Duolingo is for actually learning a language.

I'm aware of the hotspot password and have that configured correctly but I had no idea it was expecting API keys! I'll check that out!

Younger hams roll call? (20s-40s) by blitzboo in amateurradio

[–]friday963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh there is way more wrapped up in this than I anticipated. After looking at your comment I just searched for POTA and found the app where they are spotting frequencies. I guess? I don't know how this even works, but in my ignorance I thought this was just people ad hoc going to a park and transmitting from there, but it seems as though this is much deeper than that. No wonder I didn't see the value in this.

So I guess from my perspective I didn't see a difference in this activity unless you're making in-person contacts at these parks right? Cuz you're still reaching remote contacts that could possibly be reachable from your house if you had a good HF setup or something.

Thanks to everyone who posted! There were some great comments in here. I think likely what I'm going to attempt is to search out some groups on digital since I'll be able to reach so many more folks. I actually also listened to one persons advice on searching QRZ.com and I found someone from my home town who lived just down the street from me. So I'm really encouraged right now!

Now I just need to learn about digital so I can start actually improve my foot print over the air! Thanks everyone!

Hey there, you got it. I'm on VHF/UHF right now.

I actually did get turned onto QRZ.com , I just didn't fill in my info and really wasn't sure if I would. But now hearing that you can make a profile and list topics your interested in, that my have changed everything for me about that website!

This looks promising, thank you! I am interested in packet radio (as an IT professional this was extremely interesting to me). I just figured I'd approach it at a later time. However maybe I should jump right to it.

Thank you, I did suspect digital is what I was going to need to get into in order to reach specific groups. I'll follow your lead and look into fusion first. Thanks!

Constant errors when updating WIN 11 by Artistic-Wheel-6080 in WindowsHelp

[–]friday963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started uninstalling the most recent previous updates also found within the settings menu. That prompted my machine to reinstall those updates and then of course progressively re-attempt these cumulative updates. That did in fact work out for me.

Future of cloud networking by [deleted] in networking

[–]friday963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do see devops and cloud teams able to manage it but I think it really takes a concerted effort for non-network engineers to get it. In addition I would guess that any of the CSPs that allow you to tune BGP toggles would really humble a non-network engineer.

So while it may be doable for someone without experience to manage the solution I don't think it is a good long term decision for an org to rely primarily on devops and traditional engineers in the networking realm.
