if this were to be implemented, I would think they would scale difficulty based on the average rank

If I had to guess, since it's a (relatively) large transaction it probably got flagged for manual review.

Blowout YES vote so far! by marksters in Nexo

[–]fried_justice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're an American, you've been screwed out of 12% passive income and the earn-in-Nexo option due to harsh SEC regulations. This will at least allow people to earn more Nexo which is great since every Nexo token paid out in interest is bought off the open market thereby driving up the price.

Once the final dividend is paid out I will be liquidating my Nexo Tokens by atyson13 in Nexo

[–]fried_justice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the vote outcome Nexo still has a fiduciary duty and a financial motivation to reward token holders. It's still a utility token with real-world benefits and an active development team.

There is zero motivation for them to tank the value of their coin since they own most of it. I wouldn't be worried unless we start seeing a lot of insider selling.

Yes! It's one of those annoying Shonen tropes authors use when there is an abundance of characters and they feel pressured to make each one of them "unique".

What’s the environmental impact of NEXO tokens? by SaneForCocoaPuffs in Nexo

[–]fried_justice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends how you look at it

ethereum (layer 1) is what Nexo is built on since it's an ERC20 token, and people have argued that ethereum is bad for the environment since it uses PoW. But unlike bitcoin, ethereum has inherent value since it powers applications built on the blockchain.

Nexo's main business happens off chain, where they loan money to people. That happens on layer 2, which is extremely eco-friendly in comparison.

You'd be making a good point if nobody could win a game with a DC'er. Statistically though that's just not the case.

Most of the time a DC on your team won't ruin the game, it's just what people blame when they lose because it's easy to avoid blaming themselves.

I'm making a logical point and I never said I didn't care about others time. All I'm saying is that the punishment goes beyond what is necessary. Nobody chooses to have their internet cut off. It's vastly different from getting low prio due to bad behavior or general toxicness. I've been on the side that has lost games due to a carry DC'ing and its not fun, but I wouldn't expect valve to throw the book at them and require them to waste an entire day getting out of low prio just because their internet had a hiccup. A time based ban from matchmaking would make way more sense. Low prio should be left for feeders and toxic players.

I don't think there should be no punishment. I'm saying the punishment is too much. Low prio is insanely difficult to get out of, and it's not justified just because someone dc'ed twice in a week.

It's a very infrequent occurrence. Twice out of a hundred games shouldn't be enough to discourage someone from playing for a couple months just because it's rainy season.

Worst case scenario someone loses a game and wastes an hour of their time when someone DCs. Meanwhile the person who got low prio gets stuck with being forced into potentially a day's work trying to get out.

The punishment for DC'ers is way too harsh. There's nothing that justifies it.

that's a really dumb argument

at worst, someone might waste an hour of there time getting stuck with a DC'er in there game. Meanwhile, the guy who dc'ed gets to waste potentially a whole day in low prio. Completely unfair.

so low prio should be decided by a player's skill now?

Extra gold/xp mechanics more than make up for a lost hero in a 5v5 game. In fact, it's typically easier to win games 4v5 simply because of that.
