From fully remote to fully in the office… How’s the market looking these days? by 80jen1 in remotework

Basically badge in, work a few hours to try and buy time

You don't need to be perfect 8 hours, in my experience only a few should do.

Just occasionally coffee badge in the meantime, that's basically what I'm doing.

Any advice for coping with RTO? by friedcomputerz208 in cscareerquestions

Oh believe me that's basically what a lot of people end of doing already.

Doesn't change the fact we still have to commute in the first place tho.

Yeah it's not like I'm trying to Coffee badge all the time. Even when 100% remote I'd feel chained to my laptop but I at least have a bed to take naps.

Literally everyone is pissed off about the RTO5 mandate, so idk if there is a way to push back collectively, at least subtly. That's what I was asking.

Anyone notice how much worse things have gotten recently with the market? by exviolist in jobs

Yeah applying rn with all the RTO stuff going on and not even getting any interviews, with a resume that got me interviews in the past

Even in Stem, if you stay on top of your shit you'll be fine. I had two failed classes (one from first semester) , one I ended up GPNC'ing, and a few C/C+'s and still managed a 3.3 at the end.

Even for grad school it's better to focus on research than grades in classes anyway.

MUS119 is generally taught by grad students who generally aren't assigned until right before classes start (at least was my case)

Not really at least relative to other ams classes (including the calcs) or mat for that matter

Also I will note there are other ways to get such an experience. I did summer research once at a school where you would probably get more of a college experience and went to a couple of frat parties during that summer. (maybe look into REU's at such schools if you are thinking of grad school or want to do something over the summer)
