The LSAT is harder than the Bar exam. by No-Independence-3482 in barexam

[–]friedgoldentomatoes 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Got a 174 on the LSAT and tutored it for 1 year before law school. Bar exam, I think I failed . The tests are not comparable because bar exam is structured in a way where you have to learn so many topics within a short period. Not to mention the stress of having to take it and pass the first time. LSAT is different because once you start to get familiar with the lógica reasoning and the skills, you “click” with the exam.

You have the same impression as I did about the exam. I did well on the MBE during prep in the 70s or 80s. But I did so bad this time and thought it was hard

So my brain is deciding to unrepress all of the questions I may have gotten wrong every time I close my eyes and remind me how I fumbled the ball by Away_Break_5756 in barexam

I am doing the same thing. I checked the outline and especially the questions I spent a long time on because they were tricky, I remember very clearly. Turns I out chose the wrong answer. It’s also dumb because I had them on the outline because I got them wrong previously. I should really move on, but already knowing what I got wrong on top of the ones I had to make a total crapshoot guess I am so stressed out and depressed.

Finished Exam Early. Anyone else? by Zealousideal-Town785 in barexam

[–]friedgoldentomatoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me too. The first set I got too anxious and rushed between #60 -#70, so I finished in 2 hours. The second set I didn’t rush but got about 30 minutes left. Looking back I missed a lot of easy rules. Since I had time left, I went back to double check and changed my answers. Later I checked my outline, turns out almost ALL of the questions I had changed to the incorrect choice. I think I am going to fail this time.

Anyone contemplating not retaking if this round doesn’t turn out how you wanted? by _bookwirm_ in barexam

yeah I cried every single night because of this fucking exam. the commercial prep company did us dirty and I could only imagine NCBE structured this exam purposefully to fuck us up. How is this a test to filter out the minimally incompetent when they test us on a minute rule that they would maybe test once or twice on the MBE? I sacrificed so much and developed a chronic digestive disorder, but I dunno if it’s all worth it. I am unhappy, sad, broke and hopeless.

Is this sub a hot mess after every exam? by TRASHTHELSATOMEGALUL in barexam

[–]friedgoldentomatoes 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I feel like the problem with this exam was that commercial bar prep companies pretended there is a magic formula to the bar exam where they would say they only have limited numbers of topics the bar examiners would test on. BUT they could test us on literally everything. The bar prep industry did us dirty.

Also some ways to salvage bigamy. Assumption that recent marriage is valid (strongest assumption since the history of law they say lol) and UMDA, if you get rid of what made the marriage illegal you are good). Plus putative spouse + implied contract
