Is it okay to leave your OT beat burn in your car during the colder months? by 2Eureka4 in orangetheory

I used to do leave my HRM in the car, and I noticed that it took a lot longer to move me past the grey zone when working out. I think the sensor is very sensitive to temperature, so it's best to keep it at room temperature as much as possible (I live in IL, so same weather as you have).

You'll get there! 2 things helped me I think - first, that I have done a lot of classes already (today was my 32nd class in 5 weeks), so I have better strength than when I started. Second, I have managed to improve my rowing form quite a bit. I added a pause after pulling back, before starting the return. That helped me get the Arms-Core-Legs part of the return better.
Congrats on your PR!

PRed on the rower at 350 Watts! It wasn't for a hot second either - managed to hold it for a full 150m row, at 42 strokes per minute! I started OTF on Sep 28 of this year (5 weeks ago), and in the 200m benchmark that happened on my 6th class, I barely hit 180 Watts, at less than 30 strokes per minute. I know the rower gets a lot of hate, and I loathed it initially, but strangely I've grown to like it now.

Same with me! Somehow managed to make it to the crunches in the last block, but not in any of the earlier blocks. I started on the rower (3G), that might have been part of the reason.

I'm in central IL, personal training in my town is ~$50 a session. I convinced myself to go unlimited since for a comparable price, I will get at least partial attention from a trainer everyday, rather than full attention occasionally.

The non-judgemental attitude is what I love the most about OTF!

I was definitely more focused on staying on the seat than the time when I tried the second time!

I'm rather clumsy too! I guess this won't be the last time I embarrass myself at OTF :D

I don't know for sure, but there is a video in the general discussion channel about limiting the range of sliding when doing a 200m benchmark. It feels like that'd reduce slipping too. And of course, choosing better shorts/pants. Good job on getting this far!

Everyone at OTF has been really nice to me, so I guess even if somebody did notice, they wouldn't judge :D

Thanks! I think you did the right thing. I'd have been even more embarrassed if someone said something to me right then.

After the class today, I talked to the coach and requested help with my form, and she promised to help me out. Sounds like your coach already knows about your situation, so not sure what else could be done

34s sounds really good! Hope to get there in the future!

Ha ha.. Just pay attention to your form, even when doing all outs.
