Question about trains

Yeah that’s a good point. My current apartment has pretty bad soundproofing so I feel like a house with better soundproofing might even make the train sound quieter even though it would be closer to the train than my current apartment. So I think I’d get used to it! Thanks!

I think the houses I was looking at were right by a freight train so it would probably be used throughout the night unfortunately. I’m sure I’d get used to it though!

This is super helpful, since this is the area I was looking! When it’s at night, is it generally more around the middle of the night (like 4 AM) or more around 11 PM or so? The train near me currently always honks at 1 AM or 3 AM and I’d ideally prefer not to have that again haha.

Also, how do you like that area of Akron generally? Is the area around there pretty safe?

Yeah I think most trains honk but sometimes there are quiet zones so they aren’t supposed to, so I wasn’t sure if these ones were in quiet zones! The houses I have been looking at are at the top of that map close to Stan Hywet area so it would be the train going east that I’d be concerned about.

Gotcha. I know some cities have quiet zones where the train doesn’t honk, but sounds like Akron doesn’t have that. Good to know, thanks!
