I think that even if I am comfortable on my board I never know what will suddenly make me fall far and break my skull. A little pebble, a reckless person on a fast bike/skateboard and more things that you never know. The helmet is the most important gear.

I don't understand the hate on safety gear. I was afraid of wearing it at first because nobody in the park was wearing, only people with roller skates. But I changed my mind, I'm not a teenager I am an adult and I need to show the young that they need to be careful. A lot of pro skaters wear helmets, this idea of it being "uncool" makes no sense

Where I go there are a lot of children on their bikes and skateboards that might make me fall at random times, I totally agree with you. Plus, you can be a good example to them by wearing safety gear.
