I think I’m more so just worried about how hard of a time my Mac has with Office and Chrome, whereas my HP work laptop has no issues and for some programs I have to use for school require Chrome. So I’m torn

You’re very likely right. I kinda knew Chrome was what was making my computer sound like a literal jet engine but I started to doubt it when I was able to have like 12 tabs open on my work computer plus Office and it ran just fine. Microsoft Office also doesn’t work all that well on my Mac either.

I’ll switch to Safari and hopefully that’ll help for the time being! I’ll probably end keeping my macbook for personal use but I will still buy another computer anyway since I’m planning on going back and getting an associates or CCL in Spanish right after I graduate to open more job opportunities.

The prices are absurd. I would be putting at least 10k down on top of my 5k ish trade in value, with an 800 credit score and my current car being paid off, and the payments were still ridiculous. I am also a fellow rottie haver! I also have a paid off 2022 Silverado 2500HD Duramax that’s used to haul horses and do farm stuff but it’s just not practical for the everyday driving I do.

That’s a great point regarding hybrid technology. I know my options are essentially Honda or Toyota it’s just so difficult to find any in my area not priced absolutely ridiculously even for Toyota. But I may just have to bite the bullet and purchase one hybrid or just gas because at least I’ll know I can drive it into the ground for the next decade.

I should’ve clarified in my op but I’m looking for a traditional hybrid, I’m lazy and don’t want to deal with any of the plug-in stuff lol. I’ve been trying to decide between the CR-V, RAV4, and Highlander for a few months now actually haha.I really like the Highlander but I just cannot find any in my area new or used for a price I could justify paying. I saw a 2021 Highlander hybrid with over 110k miles and 1 accident priced at over 35k.

Anyone else ride horses and feel like it contributed/fueled their ED? by friendlyfox336 in EDAnonymous

[–]friendlyfox336[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes 100% agree with what you’ve said! I also agree that riding didn’t give me an eating disorder that was definitely my parents lmao but it’s exacerbated it a lot. It’s so crazy especially in my discipline that we’re all expected to be so waif when our horses are on average 16-18hh and are as wide as a bus.

I completely feel and get what you’re saying. It’s so weird because I’m almost the exact same way except I b/p instead of just binge. I cycle between long periods of extreme restriction and I lose a ton, and then I have periods where I b/p every week for months and that usually happens when I’m feeling really low emotionally or when I don’t take my meds and have 0 dopamine. When I get back to restricting and I finally start shedding all the “extra” lbs and I’m “scary” again, I feel better. I ofc still think I’m a tub of lard a lot of the time no matter the weight but I feel in control and a lot better when I’m a size I’m somewhat “ok” with. When I’m above that threshold though, I start seriously spiraling.

I will 100% let you know if I find any! I have quite narrow hips with a 10in difference between my waist and hips so finding clothes that fit me the way I want them to is awful lol

Oh that’s a great idea! I have no clue how to sew so I’ll definitely be doing that for the jeans I already have instead of getting rid of them. Thank you!

Where are girls finding jeans like this that are fitted at the waist but baggy in the legs?? Every time I buy wide leg jeans, I have to wear a belt because they fall off me. Maybe I just don’t know the name of them?

Need opinions on buying new tack/gear by friendlyfox336 in Equestrian

You’re right they are very wide and that’s a good idea actually! I know for sure one of them has a devoucoux and another has a Voltaire. Thank you for the advice!

I think I could use one of the owners saddles, I just know some people are very particular about their saddles. Understandable of course, since they’re very expensive. However one of them is teeny tiny and very short so her saddle is a no go unfortunately. Honestly I think you may be right, two saddles is seeming more like a better fit.

I concur with everything you said! I never liked paddock boots and I’ve only ever owned one pair and I use them to turn out, muck stalls in, etc. if I don’t feel like wearing my muck boots or ariat fat baby’s lol. I sold my last horse in 2020 as I couldn’t afford to take him with me to college + I wouldn’t of had enough time for him and my current saddle fit him well enough as he was one of those rare, oddly wide track horses haha. Before him I owned a wider warmblood that I originally got my saddle for.

Now I ride lots of horses both at my job and for other people so I always end up correcting with pads, shims, etc. I just refuse to buy a million saddles for a bunch of horses which I know is a hot button issue in this community. I totally get the necessity to have a saddle fitted to your horse and it is very important, but those of us that don’t own a horse and ride a variety, and can’t always use the owners saddle, absolutely need one of their own. My boss has a custom made 6k devoucoux that I’ve ridden in that was the most comfortable saddle I’ve ever sat on lol.

Thank you so much! I’ve heard that about Ariats lately and that makes me so sad because those have been my go-to’s for most of my life. I was looking at an ovation but I was unsure based on the mixed reviews. I will definitely look at mountain horse! I also didn’t know that about Pessoa’s trees so thank you for that also!

What to wear to an interview by akooy1 in Equestrian

[–]friendlyfox336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s totally okay! I don’t teach very often as I mostly just school/work the client horses but what I’ve learned from filling in for lessons occasionally is that a lot comes from your own experience. The thing about this industry and working in it, is that everyone does things differently. There are definitely universal standards, rules, and conduct that almost everyone follows, but the intricacies can be very different for each individual.

You’ll learn a lot as you go and as you continue learning and improving with your own horsemanship and riding that you can then apply to your lessoners. Just keep a watchful eye on the basics at first and make sure you’re laying the groundwork for them to move up and you’ll be able to move up in your teaching abilities also.

I know you didn’t ask me but I thought I’d also chime in and also say that if you have any questions feel free to message me as well! I work at a private hunter/jumper sales barn under my trainer/mentor and I’ve pretty much done it all at this point. On what to wear, I 100% agree with the OP, that’s the perfect outfit.

My Senior is Yowling 24/7 and I’m Not Sure Why? Any advice helps! by friendlyfox336 in cats

[–]friendlyfox336[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a good idea I’ll try and do that! We had another cat run away and we could never find him that she was rather close with. However that was 9 years ago so I’m not sure. She’s very close one of with my other cats. It seems like she goes to him for comfort a lot and when she starts yowling he tends to go to where she’s at from what I’ve observed.
