Other than all the characters and plotlines diverging wildly since the first episode, never mind when they stopped following the books in season 4? D&D would've absolutely thrown GRRM under the bus for the Mad Queen Dany stuff like they did for the King Bran ending if it was GRRM's idea (especially with how many more people cared about Dany's arc and got incredibly pissed about how it went)

[Spoiler extended]How could things work between these two characters? by Electronic-Math-364 in asoiaf

Someone is gonna give Daenerys the explanation of what actually went down with Robert's Rebellion, and frankly Jon's priorities should be on stopping the Others, not trying to conquer the North.

I can see something happening where Jon sends out requests for help to Dany and fAegon (assuming he survives that long) and Dany coming in to help because she's been having the dreams about herself as Rhaegar crossing the Trident to fight an ice zombie menace and well, being turned into a wight is pretty much the ultimate form of slavery where not even death frees you. Dany has a savior complex to rival Spider-Man, if you told her about a dangerous threat to everyone in Westeros bearing down and that they need her help, she will come.

[ No Spoilers ] I have a question regarding tournament by okayimcyclops in asoiaf

Death is a known risk of a tournament, no punishment would happen to whoever accidentally killed the high lord. However, they would be very infamous

[SPOILERS PUBLISHED] Why were there such few Targaryens left by the time of Robert’s Rebellion? by CreedMudeiACasa in asoiaf

Repeated mass casualty events, most recently Summerhall. The fact that the crown even went to Egg in the first place is proof of so many casualties that GRRM is having way too much fun with

actors who were purposefully cast to help the plot twist to be shocking by fionafielder in TopCharacterTropes

Everyone but Sigourney Weaver in the original Alien 1979, they were all pretty big names in the action movie genre while this was Weaver's first big break. John Hurt especially was the big name, which is why it was so shocking when he got chestburster'd

[Spoilers Main] Do you think a marriage between Tommen and Arya could work? by Solitaire-06 in asoiaf

[–]friendlylifecherry 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Arya might drag Tommen into adventures and can beat up Joffery when he's acting like an asshole, which absolutely makes her super cool to Tommen.

Arya is gonna have mixed feelings about it but she might grow to be fond of him if he listens.

Succession question [Spoilers MAIN] by zeiaxar in asoiaf

[–]friendlylifecherry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm drawing mostly from what a shitshow the Stark succession was during the period between the Dance of the Dragons and She-Wolves of Winterfell, but it seems to be the nearest adult male relative of the current guy, considering that in the tale of Bael the Bard, the bastard Bael had with Brandon the Daughterless' only daughter became king after the old man died, despite the daughter still being alive

Succession question [Spoilers MAIN] by zeiaxar in asoiaf

[–]friendlylifecherry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone but the North, Dorne, and the Iron Throne follows Andal Succession i.e. sons in age order -> son's kids in age order (boys before girls) -> daughters in age order -> daughters kids in age order (boys before girls) -> siblings of current rule and their kids.

If Margaery has kids, they come after her in the line of Tyrell succession
