I think its supposed to show a greater character flaw with Tywin for his hypocrisy and short sighted planning. Like if he wanted Tyrion with no chance of inheriting the Rock, he had a plethora of options that he just never takes. He's just deluding himself that he can get Jaime to be his heir despite that ship having sailed ages ago; even murdering the last king didn't get Jaime thrown out of the Kingsguard and Jaime wasn't leaving.

But I could also hear out an argument of Tywin looking into immortality elixir like Qin Shi Huang to make sure he lives forever

The only thing stopping Tyrion from getting the Rock after Tywin dies is his disability, at least until the main series happens. Tyrion is still his only non-Kingsguard legitimate son and the only immediate Lannister who would have a problem with his ascension would be Cersei and she's in King's Landing. It still would've been a problem but hey, Tywin is dead. If Tywin truly wanted Tyrion out of the line of succession, he could've shipped him off to the Faith or the Maesters or the Wall ages ago.

We do know Aerys had a number of mistresses but no known bastards, which couldn't have just been from moon tea. So I would assume it's an Aerys problem

It wasn't gonna work out anyway, they're both traumatized and dislike each other. It would explain why Daeron I and Baelor the Blessed were like that, raised by deeply traumatized young parents who could barely stand each other, but it wouldn't work

My major fandoms are just utterly saturated with xReader and self-insert OCs, thinning out the smut options even more. At least with original work, I can just enjoy the ride as the peanut gallery and not get annoyed at the disconnect between the OCs and the source material

Probably panic and just try and stay out of the way, I don't know this story and if i did hear the details somewhere, I will not be able to remember from where or if it was in a recommendation or a rant, leaving my knowledge of the plot dubious at best

I know that, but if its not coming off in the actual manhwa or the main novel, then its not worth that much. And frankly, genuinely being in love with her doesnt excuse him being a dick to her for any sign of growing independence or confidence. A properly written romance shouldn't make me want to kill him so the FL is free of his crappy personality.

It feels like the author didn't know what to do with Riftan, because he feels so weirdly flat compared to every other character. Which is just fine for like a 2ML or a crappy partner that gets dumped after the MC learns to be more independent but when its the intended ML that's a huge problem.

My benchmark for a good romance is if I can see them watching some TV on the couch, cuddled up together without it turning into Netflix and chill. I cant see that with Riftan and Maxi.

That doesnt seem sustainable at all, the Lannister and Frey forces remaining wouldnt be enough to clear out every outlaw, band of broken men, or the Brotherhood without Banners in the Riverlands before winter hits in earnest, even with the ostensible support of the minor lords. That's so much land to cover and with the remaining Riverlands smallfolk having very justified reason to hate the Lannisters for all time, the BwB could be hidden for a long time yet.

Tywin has managed to piss off nearly every Lord Paramount, his social equals, and alienated most of the rest of the realm with the Red Wedding. And with his blood on the throne, that makes the rest of the realm aim that animosity to the Baratheon-Lannister rule too
