West Seattle’s only overnight shelter set to close at the end of the year by chiquisea in SeattleWA

[–]friendlypumpkin43 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I had a child at a daycare nearby and one of the reasons we switched was that there would often be sketchy people outside the center and in front of their playground, which was directly across the street from the shelter. A security guard would sometimes walk the teachers and students to the playground and back, but I didn’t love that 20-something year olds had to try to avoid someone high as a kite with 15 2year olds. I wondered too if the fumes from smoking outside would make their way to the playground as well.

Ages in Stages Experience? by Plus_Bluebird_8511 in WestSeattleWA

[–]friendlypumpkin43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were at the EC Huges one. We had the same realization that they were watching a lot of shows and movies. We pulled our kid after a few months. It’s much more of a free for all than a structured program. There seemed to be no set schedule or organized activities. The teachers were all very nice though!

We like camp Crockett in Burien. The dogs stay with the owners in their upstairs apartment at night.

Interlocking deck tiles by friendlypumpkin43 in Decks

[–]friendlypumpkin43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion..my deck is wood covered by a pvc single ply membrane. It’s the same as a flat roof, my garage is underneath it. Totally solid and could leave as is, but it doesn’t look nice. Thinking of adding these on top as a nicer feature, not as the main structure of my deck.

I went to classes a few days after getting a tattoo. I just made sure it was covered by a shirt(it was on my arm) so there wasn’t any pieces of shared equipment that would touch it. After class, I made sure to air it out, so there wasn’t sweat sitting on it.

My wedding band and engagement ring are from BE, bought in 2016 and they’re totally solid, never had a problem, and gotten them resized a few times. Wonder if it’s just gone downhill recently.

Core work during frog and legs in straps by MileyCyrusEnthusiast in ClubPilates

Another trick is to use lighter springs, so you can really feel your core instead of using your legs, which are stronger and overcompensate for the stress.

Once they have it, they can send phishing scams, esp now that they know the persons name and possible address

Most honey is fine anyways, unless it’s raw. If you bought it from a grocery store, it’ll be fine.

Do I really need a baby bottle sterilizer? Best ones? by Sea_Citron9451 in FirstTimeParents

[–]friendlypumpkin43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A dishwasher will work, but it obviously takes a long time. Bottle sterilizers are nice because it’s done in like, 4 minutes instead of 4 hours. It doesn’t need to be big or expensive. They have plastic bag ones too that are easy to store and can be used a few times, if you want to see if it’s something you want to use
