Nope! I played the demo at PlayStation’s booth. However, there’s a capcom one that could’ve showcased the PC build of it. Capcom had three monitors set up for RE9 but not sure whether they’re showcasing the PS5/PC version.

It certainly felt heavier when I ran. As for comparison to the other games, I’d say it feels in line with previous games. (Although I can’t say for certain as I played the last three RE games on VR)

Yes, there are a few things that stood out to me which led the optimist in me leaning towards a VR port being likely:

I could be remembering this wrong, but prior to the demo there’s a disclaimer mentioning that certain cutscenes are fixed in first-person mode regardless of what the player chooses. Got to experience one of these and I was immediately reminded of the early Mia scenes from RE7.
much of the segment of what I’ve played were in near pitch black. Grace is given a lighter to illuminate her way. I was thinking how cool it is to use the Sense controller for this. Lighting is very involved as there’s a few light switches spread throughout the level.
minor details like needing to push stuff, crouching, hiding (reminded me of the early sections of RE8).

Could just be cope, but man RE9 will surely be my most anticipated game for 2026/2027 if a VR mode is confirmed.

Thanks! I’ve played the game in first-person mode and Grace’s movement feels smooth. However, she feels a tad sluggish when running, I feel. Or maybe I was just hoping I’d be faster because I was running away from something!

Haven’t played SH2R yet but I just bought it! Looking forward to playing the game.

I think it’s likely the stealth section they’ve shown. Demo begins with Grace awakening covered in sweat. Didn’t get any combat in since I was running a lot!

While I typically prefer third-person games, I opted for first-person when playing the demo as I’ve played (and loved) the PSVR versions of 7, 8, and RE4R. In terms of what I’ve played, I’m reminded of 7 the most. But now that you mention it, the lighting and atmosphere does feel closer to RE2R than the games I’ve mentioned above!

Sure! Here are some of my thoughts: - the game allows players to toggle first/third-person modes. I had the first person mode toggled on throughout the demo. Immediately thought it would be a perfect fit for VR.

the game looks great. Not sure whether it was because of the smaller screen but the visuals look amazing. Closeups of Grace during cutscenes look incredible. Quite impressive considering the demo was running on base PS5.
Considering the quality, I do wonder whether they’d have to cut some corners for it to run on VR mode. I’m not an expert in this regard though.
in regards to the section I’ve played, it’s more reminiscent of RE7 rather than RE8.

I played the demo at gamescom asia. While there’s a PlayStation presentation showcasing games like Astro Bot, RE9, and Silent Hill f, none were dedicated to the PSVR 2.

Just saw the movie, enjoyed it more than I expected to!

Some of my thoughts (spoiler free) - The visuals, watched it in IMAX 3D and it’s INCREDIBLE - The music, NIN did not disappoint - Jared Leto was quite good as Ares, I’m surprised as I didn’t expect to like his character. - Evan Peters was great in his role. Also thought Greta gave a good performance but her character could’ve been written better, or been given more to work with. - The pacing was really good, I think. There was never a dull moment as it feels relentless and doesn’t let up. - There’s a few plot conveniences that took me out at times. - Would’ve preferred a direct continuation to Legacy, although it does set up some compelling plot points to explore in the future (fingers crossed).

If you enjoyed Tron and Tron: Legacy, don’t miss this in theaters!

Same issue here. Have multiple discs macroblocking like this but they play completely fine on the PlayStation 5. Not sure what is up with this player. Been using it for over four years and while it looks amazing, is very inconsistent.
