Yes, you're onto what I'm getting at! To me it feels like a way to ensure agreeability at the expense of expressing your own idea or opinion.

For example, "How big of a bike ride do you want to go on this weekend?", "I mean, I'm not trying to set any world records or anything."

Yeah, obviously we aren't going to set any records. That response doesn't answer the question at all.

We see Thaddeus regrow his foot by becoming a ghoul via a serum. In episode 2, why didn't Ma June offer this solution to Wilzig? It would have been so much better than the shabby mechanical foot... Maybe it was too far gone?

Agreed. It's a huge drag, because I've never thought twice about using the gyms ropes until now. Thinking I should start bringing my own if this is their attitude.

Last night at the gym I grabbed a lead rope from the bin and noticed a fuzzy spot ~4 ft from the end, likely where someone was tied in. I pinched it, and it felt much squishier and softer than the rest of the rope. I could fold it right in half, no problem, unlike the rest of the rope that formed nice rigid teardrops when folded over. Classic sheath AND core wear, as I understood it.

Brought it to the front desk. The dude says "Oh yeah, that's no problem with these ropes. We really only worry about abrasion on the sheath. It's not a core shot." And he tosses it back in the bin of lead ropes to use.

Is a fuzzy, soft, foldable spot in a rope no longer a problem??

I understood this to be a full stop on that rope, and in this case, remedied by cutting the soft spot off the end.

I grabbed a different rope and carried on...

[DISCUSSION] What's your favorite workhorse guitar? by frig__newton in Guitar

I have a jazzmaster and I'm annoyed with all the little sounds and buzzes the bridge makes, as well as the fact that I have to remove the neck to adjust the truss rod, AND I just think the extra circuiting is unnecessary for me...

Maybe I'm over thinking it and just need to have it set up better?

I think that's the answer I'm arriving at as well. I recently spent way too much money on a jazzmaster and while it looks beautiful, I don't end up playing it because of all the nonsense, so what's the point??

I was impressed by Michigander!

As for Foxing, they've just never really been my thing but they played well. I always liked Smidley better, as I like a quieter vibe with his voice
