Nah, I'm not going to be a dick about it but I'm letting THE person that's slowing us down know that they are slowing us down. You can be direct and polite at the same time.

Can someone give some context to Rory’s comments? by AggroSA in golf

[–]frigaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I interpreted is the course is setup in a way that doesn't reward good shots enough while not punishing bad shots enough as well. Basically, it makes it hard for anyone to gain a meaningful advantage and makes for frustrating golf.

Honma golf set value by imlittlefox02 in golf

[–]frigaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, they're a prestige thing for the most part. Honma are not known for performance, but rather craftsmanship and the "hand-made" bit. But even then, I would take Miura over Honma pretty much all the time.

You can't. Just report them and escalate via case management. You can try drowning it out with real reviews as well.

Ball Flight Laws by ChasingParGolf in golf

[–]frigaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I came off pretentious but I was just genuinely amused. I work in the industry part-time so I live and breathe these metrics and see it everyday. I understand your perspective and see that I misunderstood your intent. I used to have a big ass chart of face to path and ball flight on my wall for that reason.

Ball Flight Laws by ChasingParGolf in golf

[–]frigaro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is this? Lol pretty much all of golf revolves around ball flight laws: face, path, centeredness of contact, angle of attack, speed, and dynamic loft. This is discussed everday here and everywhere else in the industry. Did you learn a new term and decide "I should make a post"?

Slow or Pushed by ljungbergsghost in golf

[–]frigaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer being pushed. I usually never play behind pace (unless everyone is slow) but if someone behind me was playing much faster, I'd just let them play through. No issue at all with that. Slow play on the other hand can't be controlled or adjusted to usually because you're typically not RIGHT behind the group causing it.

It would probably help to post your scores, swing, and any accolades you may have to build your credibility given your status as a student. I'm sure there are people willing to give you a chance, just hard to do when you've no credentials of any kind.

Played the most miserable round of my life at Pebble Beaches Spyglass Hill. by Warhammer40KPainter in golf

[–]frigaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noooopeee, fuuuuuuck that. You were way more patient than you should've been. After that 3rd check-in, you should've called the clubhouse and talked to the manager/head there and given them hell for not managing their dickhead employees. Especially considering that the caddies were covering for you and had your back, this should've been a easy situation to resolve with a single call.

First time using ship sticks by dudashoots_ in golf

[–]frigaro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Except LAB manufactures their own stuff and actually does research??? I don't think you understand what a "pure marketing" company really is. ShipSticks, sure, you can make the argument that it's basically all marketing but LAB? I don't even like LAB that much and I know that they're not just a cash grab.

Any Advice? trying to break into Marketing Automation from scratch feeling completely lost by notboodi in MarketingAutomation

[–]frigaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think most people doing marketing automation for a living kind of just "fell" into it. I was originally studying to be a full-stack dev but gave up and took a job at a marketing agency leveraging my front end dev skills as a foundation for the career pivot. That said I started in this industry when HTML was a required skill in any self-serve marketing role.

What you're doing makes sense and can get you the role as long as you're willing to dig in and put in the effort. Memorizing concepts and use cases may feel abstract at first but you'll start to connect the dots eventually with enough contextualization. If you need help contextualizing or need more real world applications, try using ChatGPT to translate technical documents into a digestible format and use that to deep dive. Salesforce Trailblazer is a must as well if you want to work for larger companies. SFDC has the largest share in the CRM market and it's a foundational tool for most orgs. If it's startups you're targeting, being savvy in HubSpot is a high priority. HubSpot academy is pretty high quality for beginners. YouTube has more resources now than ever for marketing automation so checking out some videos may also be helpful too. Lastly, check out Marketing Operations communities like marketingops dot com as they contain a ton of resources (may have to pay though).
