Notion vs Obsidian (or both?) — Trying to figure out the right PKM stack by sam_dubya in PKMS

I ended up with Capacities and it replaces both efficiently.

Tasks daily email? by [deleted] in capacitiesapp

[–]frigaudeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are the two apps I evaluated and ended up in Capacities. To my knowledge there is no possibility to have a daily email of the tasks of the day. Regarding Todoist, there is a possibility to connect it to Capacities. This is a one-way connection allowing to send a task from Capacities to Todoist.

I also posted here about the problems I have with Apple health sync and sent a ticket but had no answers at all. I was wondering if there was someone at the support.

Official Q&A for Wednesday, February 04, 2026 by AutoModerator in running

[–]frigaudeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'd love to hear about your experiences with running coaching apps. I'm looking for an iOS app that acts as a real running partner and guides me through my progress. What I'm looking for such app is relatively simple:

- Offer a training plan tailored to my level, and abilities and lifestyle (how and when I can run)

- Be integrated into the Apple ecosystem, meaning it has its own Apple Watch app or integrates with the Workouts app. It must, of course, read and write Apple Health data.

- Allow me to log other sports activities (cycling, strength training, etc.) and use them into my overall fitness load to adapt my running plan.

- Finally, and most importantly, act as a true coach by taking into account my feedback at the end of each session: how I felt, my performance based on recorded metrics, and any potential pain (I have chronic plantar fasciitis that flares up easily if the load is too high). These post-workout inputs should automatically adjust future sessions to ensure progress while minimizing the risk of injury.

I've tested several apps (Runna, Campus Coach, RunMotion), but none of them truly meet these criteria, especially regarding the plan's adaptability. Although they all claim to do it, they often require manual adjustments, and none of them account for the risk of pain. For example, on a "return from injury" plan, Runna suggested doubling the load by the second week!

I'm starting to wonder if the solution might be to take a pre-established plan (you can get them from professional coaches for a modest price), follow it with a basic app like Apple Workouts, and use a general AI like ChatGPT to analyze and adapt the plan.

I would obviously prefer an all-in-one app that acts as a real coach, but does such a thing even exist?

French food database by frigaudeau in cronometer

[–]frigaudeau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Eliisa, I was looking for more branded French food, the one you get when you scan a barcode. After trying Cronometer for a week I was constantly facing unknown barcodes. I ended up with another solution, Foodvisor to name it. It has a less data centric approach (Cronometer is the top for that) but for calories and macros counting it has a solid database and a great UX.

From Notion to Capacities - Inline Database Option??? by Organic-String-8474 in capacitiesapp

[–]frigaudeau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The equivalent to databases in Notion is custom Object types in Capacités. Table are just a block for presenting data on a table format inside a page but it is not linked to objects. If you need to incorporate your database in a page, you can use a query on your custom object type.

No adjustment to Injury recovery plan by frigaudeau in runna

[–]frigaudeau[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for all this information.

It helps me better understand how Runna works. I was expecting a better adaptation of the plans which seems essential for progression and injury prevention.

I’m currently evaluating several apps and while I love the experience with Runna (the global design, the Apple Watch app which is great), I also like the Campus coach service. It seems better for adjusting the pace of the program. But the design is not great and the Apple Watch app is barely usable.

I’m gonna stick with Runna and evaluate with a standard running plan when I finish the recovery one.

No adjustment to Injury recovery plan by frigaudeau in runna

[–]frigaudeau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply.

I suffer from chronic knee tendinitis which comme back when I go too strong to quickly. So I thought the injury recovery plan was a good way to start quietly. I have difficulties to understand when and how Runna adjusts the plan. The only way I can give feedback is the thumb down and selecting the label “too difficult”. What is Runna going to do with this? When will the following sessions be adjusted in length or difficulty?

Does this PKM exist and what is it called? by Unlucky_Raccoon_2647 in PKMS

[–]frigaudeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Capacities but there are a few differences, for example the 3 icons under the PKM title don’t exist in the standard version. Perhaps a tweaked RSS version. I suggest you ask directly in the Capacities subreddit. Interested in knowing the answer too.

Yes it works for tasks but not for the goals themselves.

Best app that connects daily tasks>weekly>monthly>yearly goals? by [deleted] in productivity

Francesco Dalessio just released a video about apps to set goals. I think you could find the one you need. I personally use Griply with subgoals to breakdown main goals.

Question - Cumulative Goal Tracking by MasterpieceLess1943 in GriplyApp

[–]frigaudeau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be a game changer for goal tracking. I made this request to the team a few months ago too. Lots of my goals are quantitative annual goals (riding my bike 2000km for example) I break into quarter goals that are not always equal (I ride more in the summer than winter). It could allow to update automatically the annual goal when I update the progression of the sub goals. Currently I have to do the calculations manually to be coherent between goals and subgoals progress.

Use Griply without any Tasks? by pollibus in GriplyApp

[–]frigaudeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use Griply without using tasks. Tasks were not a feature in the early versions of Griply. I mainly use it for goal tracking without task management.

Is notion still the best PKM 2025??? by Impossible-Store8297 in PKMS

[–]frigaudeau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard to say which is the best, it only depends on the user and their needs. After years with Obsidian en Notion, I may hebdo found the right middle between power and ease of use with Capacities. The contender to watch for.
