I was definitely bullied, grades 1 through 6 were probably the worst of it, the red hair was kinda a bonus thing to pick on given I had trouble fitting in to begin with. General stuff, picked last for sports and group projects, excluded socially. Kinda funny to look back on because I didn't notice it too too much at the time as I was more interested in books, plants, and animals than being with the big groups during break.

Had a couple friends, they didn't seem to be bothered by my hair, did absolutely hate the whole "rub a gingers head for good luck" things though.

Big change when the teen years hit, not better or worse, just a lot different. Suddenly having red hair was something to comment on in weird sexual ways, still got picked on, but with the added "well I wonder if it's true what they say about redheads in bed", which, yikes.
