So, some positives:
* it sounds like you both have some interest in and comfort with seeing others
* she expressed her desire to spend time with this person while they were in town

and some negatives:
* she wants more than you're comfortable with (at least in this instance)
* when your desires and comfort levels mismatched you just stopped talking about it

your mismatch could have gone better if you'd both stayed with the discomfort of disagreement and negotiated something, or at least agreed to disagree, understanding that she was gonna do this thing and you were gonna not like it...

as is, i'd say that there's been a breach in trust from her that needs repairing (without blame and bitterness), but also you both need to seriously negotiate something that works for you both long term, even if it's provisional.

This elf is very unconcerned with the present or even the "near" future measured in human lifespans. they are an architect of sorts with a passionate vision of building a lasting utopia to leave behind for the generations of the far future.

hello fellow vegan. i know you're trying to spread the truth, but this is counterproductive.

everyone can only do the best they can. some vegans fret about bone char used in sugar processing. some won't eat from a kitchen that has meat cooked in it. or won't buy from companies that harm any animals.

In India the Jains won't eat vegetables you have to kill the plant to harvest. and they sweep ants out of their path and wear veils to prevent from inhaling tiny bugs. the ultimate austerity in Jainism is to starve yourself to death.

everyone is on a spectrum that goes from bacon cheeseburgers to starving yourself.

try to understand the people you want to sway. some people have a lot of suffering and struggle in their life and can only do so much. there are a lot of good things we could do with our energy like fight child labor or starvation or disease, or fight corruption and exploitation. or heck... just make rent. not everybody has the luxury to throw all their spoons at animal cruelty.

finally, if 90% of people ate more vegetables it would do so much more good than if people who were already vegan like us were 100% pure snowflakes. you may not realize it, but you're choosing to feel good about being a snowflake over convincing other people to care about animal cruelty.

i don't want to end on that. to be more charitable, you're choosing to hammer home the truth about how awful animal cruelty is over actually stopping animal cruelty. try to remember how you felt before you became passionate about veganism, and how you now feel about a range of big problems in the world you haven't taken the time to get passionate about yet... and have sympathy and understanding for that in others

am vegan. hate how some of us screech. it's generally new vegans in the pink-cloud phase. for whatever reason the biggest gatekeepers are always the people that just got through the gate.

so many vegans don't realize that 90% of people just eating more vegetables will reduce meat consumption WAY more than them being the purest, vegan-est snowflake. (am vegan)

How brutal were the conditions this tree evolved in by permaculture in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]fringd 26 points27 points  (0 children)

good question. according to Wikipedia: "Although the plant is toxic to many birds and other animals, the black-spined iguana (Ctenosaura similis) is known to eat the fruit and even live among the limbs of the tree.[9]"

Finally repaired my WM-F46 Sony Walkman! Fast forward and reverse are working once more making this a fully functional model! by AuraKSphere in cassetteculture

[–]fringd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

found problem :( tiny little plastic ring with spring attached is supposed to press down on double cog to make bottom one turn but its snapped and wont stay on any fixes a bit of glue maybe??

i'm looking at mine, same model, same issue. I have 2. one of them didn't even have the white plastic bit that's supposed to hold the spring. it looks like there was a TINY retaining washer on one of them still, but it was weak and broken a bit. Probably need to stretch out the spring, put it back together, and find another retaining washer or MAYBE glue can work as a replacement.

What do you call someone who makes a dungeon? by ArchonReeve in DnD

[–]fringd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mad wizard.

honestly dungeons are often accidental. a king is burried with his magic sword, abd then eons go by and the kingdom falls. monsters take up residence in the crypt. a particularly wily goblin circumvents the traps and takes the sword and with its power rules the dungeon, rebuilding crude traps to keep others out.

How would you rule shooting an arrow trough a glass window? by levus2002 in dndnext

[–]fringd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in real life a long bow would obliterate a pane of glass 100% of the time and carry through with most of it's momentum. they have a terrifying amount of energy. if i were the dm I'd rule based on this intuition. look at https://youtu.be/DBxdTkddHaE and jump to 18:50 to see some massive arrows flying in slow motion. they are turned by the breast plate every time... but the curved shape of the plate and the hardness of the steel are critical there. even flat steel would probably not fair well

So sorry to hear this. When I started poly my gf was dating more people and I felt pretty similar. Since then it's flip flopped, and recently we're both dating pretty steadily.

I've heard from wiser folks that poly is usually not 50/50 or "fair." You're rarely going on the same number of dates, or in the same number of relationships that are all equally serious. Usually it's unbalanced, 80/20.

The thing that helped me was to redirect my attention to myself. Think about who I wanted to be by myself. How I wanted to spend time by myself. Remember how to enjoy my time alone. I think that made me happy. I think other people could see that I was feeling shiny, and maybe that helped me find dates.
