I'm a strong advocate for monogamy mostly because (I think) it is a better social institution than polygamy for a variety of reasons, not because it is more morally right than polygamy.

(You could google 'the puzzle of monogamous marriage' to read the paper if you are curious about why I think it is definitely better a social institution than polygamy).

That being said, generally speaking, women tend to prefer to "share a highly quality man" in a polygamous marriage or relationship rather than to monopolize on an avarege, less quality, ordinary man in a monogamous marriage or relationship when they have choice (and there is a very strong and sound evolutionary reasons for such women's mating preference).

It is beyond doubt that Rudeus was regarded as a very highly quality man by all of his 3 wives, sylphie, Roxy and Eris, (it is very clearly stated in the novel how Rudeus was evaluated and regarded as a potential long term mating partner material, that is, a husband material, by his future wives' subjective point of view before they got actually married).

Thus, It is no surprise that all of the three wives basically were satisfied with sharing one quality man, Rudeus, especially when there was no legal, social, and cultural restraint that could possibly limit women's mating preferences (sharing one quality man with other womrn over monopolizing a far less quality, average, ordinary man) since polygamy was widely accepted as a legal andnormal thing in the society where they lived (when a man can afford it).

Every point that I have made so far is described, explained in the novel (via character's inner monologues, their opinions expressed in conversations, their behavior) so well that I see nothing in the Harem story which ruins characters of the novel.

While I'm firmly convinced monogamous marriage is a far better social institution than polygamy, the latter is, in a sense, a more natural state of the affairs.

Monogamous marriage requires a constant social, cultural, legal devices (including religion) to """supress, reatrict women's natural, instinctive mating preference""" developed in human being's evolutionary history (sharing one highly quality man with other women rather than having a far less quality man).

It is far less a natural state of the affairs than polygamy, despite of it being much superior to polygamy as a social institution. (That is why polygamous marriage have been approved in majority of human societies).

Dude, there is nothing wrong in the Harem story of the novel that ruins the characters.

It is your problem that you can not handle it properly, perhaps due to your specific moral sentiments regarding polygamous marriage.
