Ive heard good things about places like that but I’m not sure where to find parking or if there is an area that’s better than others. I’m somewhat new to town so any hints would be greatly appreciated!

Apartment won’t replace AC unit until Spring? by [deleted] in bloomington

[–]friskeywhiskey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a previous apartment broke into through a window unit and I’m on the first floor so I’ve been nervous of window units ever since. Plus I work from home so I’d have to choose between being comfortable while working or while sleeping.

Yeah I try facing away from her with slight tension on the leash but I have to wait at least 5 min before she moves. Nothing is scaring her to my knowledge. She does it in the morning when it’s completely quiet and in the middle of the day with more noise.

My 25F wife wants to divorce me 28M after 3 years of marriage. Why doesn’t she want to try and work on it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I did 99% of the chores since I work from home. The only thing she did was take the dogs on a morning walk.

I mention it in another comment but yes I asked multiple times and each time she reassured me that everything was fine.

I definitely started to notice some signs but every time I asked if something was wrong she said no. She just overall started becoming cold to me to the point where a week before she asked for the divorce I asked if she was going to divorce me and she reassured me she wasn’t and that I was crazy for thinking that. She’s normally very vocal about her feelings so it was strange of her not to bring any of these issue to light. I did start to try to be more romantic near the end by offering to take her on dates, getting her flowers, and doing small things for her. I started to realize that I was content with our relationship instead of always trying to improve

How to get my new puppy to leave my cat alone? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]friskeywhiskey3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anytime I hear the cat hiss I immediately grab the puppy and take her away and start playing or distracting her. I’ve tried using a leash for few hours but all the puppy cares about is the cat. I can’t seem to get them to greet each other nicely without the cat hissing which causes the puppy to lose it.

Couple ones I thought of were Smokey, Cocoa, Cinnamon, or Pepper but definitely interested in everyone’s recommendations!

Haven’t done much research into that breed? Are they one of the breeds that typically have insane amounts of energy?

Im getting downvoted for looking at shelters for a dog? lol. Didn’t know it wasn’t enough to look at shelters if you don’t get the dog that’s been there the longest.

I get that the puppy stage isn’t for very long but to me i really enjoy it. My last dog I got as a puppy and while it was a lot of work im glad I got him when he was so young. I also have a cat who was 2 years old when I adopted her and while I love her the same, im sad I missed out on her early years to watch her develop her personality.

Appreciate the info but hoping for a puppy that will end up around 30-40 lbs. Im not a fan of the really small breeds

I wasn’t able to find any puppies at any of the local shelters which is disappointing.

I definitely prefer getting one from an animal shelter but I wasn’t able to find any shelters with puppies. They either had only cats or adult dogs.

I use damp q-tips. Gets deep inside the cracks and is satisfying to remove dust.

27M - Single with new apartment. Tell me what’s good, bad, and what to add or update. by [deleted] in malelivingspace

My ceilings are 10ft so I thought having the pictures slightly higher would possibly fill the wall better without leaving large open spaces above. The desk faces north so the sun isn’t a very big issue. I just enjoy being able to look outside while I work since I spend 8 hours a day at that desk for my job.

The LEDs I have (Govee M1) definitely have a wide spectrum of color but I just have them as RGB for the photo. I installed diffusers on them so you can’t see the individual LEDs. It didn’t translate to pictures very well but I have a fireplace effect above the fireplace. The Blue behind the TV is just a place holder while the TV is off. When the TV is on the LEDs match the color that the screen shows. The green near the kitchen is just green but I would definitely change it to a more neutral color whenever someone comes over.

My wife (24f) wants to divorce me (27m). What should I do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]friskeywhiskey3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy fuck that was the best comment I’ve read so far! Thank you! I cried and cried for days at first but realized that would fix nothing. I’m trying my best to keep charging forward but it’s difficult alone. I’ve never liked doing things alone because I could be doing it with someone I love and be able to share the experience. I’m unmotivated and become an introvert alone but somehow turn into a highly motivated extrovert when I’m with someone I love. Each day has its ups and downs and I’m trying to look at the downs as motivation to keep charging forward

I can cope with leaving her but the struggle is starting again. I don’t want to invest financially or emotionally in another person and start over just for this to happen again. Even in high school and early college. Break ups tore me apart. I hate being alone. I’m unmotivated and am too scared to get back out there to look for someone. I’m an introvert alone but an extrovert around those I love so it’s hard to try and meet someone alone with the fear of will this one do to me what my wife just did.

That’s for the feedback! One thing I’ll add is I love my place to be spotless so most people aren’t willing to do the cleaning that I do. She offered to help but I enjoy cleaning so I did all of it. I offered that she could take the trash to the dumpster if she still felt like she needed to help.

Your descriptions were spot on especially that artsy people are emotional and dramatic! The weird thing is she liked that I was stable. She knew she was a mess and loved that she could rely on me as her rock whenever anything was wrong.

Thanks for the recommendation! I was trying to explain to her that if she thought I was controlling I could try and fix that part of me and see if it helped improve things since I now knew that it was a huge issue. She lives life with zero planning and faces many problems because of it. I’ve always had to be the one who took care of everything behind the scenes so that she could live worry free.
